Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

Well, id also make another suggestion, say we let the 2025 contracts - off the ones we wont offer new contracts to - run down and expire, but use next season to pad the squad out.

Heading into the financial year 25/26, we can count on increased commercial revenue from the new ground as income, while also using the space on the wage bill those contracts expiring creates, to better attack the market - now that's a bit simplistic given all the moving parts - with loans, takeovers and interest etc - however theoretically...............financial year 25/26 - should see an uptake in our ability to create revenue and we can plan accordingly, come July 2025 (maybe even before).

Purely defensively we'd have:

Mykolenko
Branthwaite
Tarkowski
Patterson

So in theory a back 4 although Dyche keeps saying Patterson is developing behind the scenes i think we'd sell first chance.

We'll lose Holgate, Keane, Godfrey, Young, Coleman.

That is too much in one go...its all the backup players. We must sign at least two prospects this summer to develop in defence.

If we sold Godfrey and Patterson for example the fees would bring in a new right back. Its crucial to improve at right back & means we dont need any new starting defenders to come in.

Early indications suggest Jarrad Branthwaite, Amadou Onana and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have plenty of interest and may be the ones moved on to ensure the club can continue to operate amid the ownership uncertainty.

One thing is for sure, it promises to be a summer when the winds of change blow through the corridors of the club.

Next season already feels like an uphill struggle, even before this one has ended.

Mike Richards can be found at Unholy Trinity, external
So 160m for those 3 players, 60m to the Stadium, 40m for Beto and Chermo, 40m till the Sky money drops, leaves us 20m to replace the 3 of them.

The only reason for the interest in DCL is that the vultures are looking to grab him on the cheap, taking advantage of our financial woes and the fact that he just has 12 months on his contract. No one's going to be offering us any big money for a striker with his injury record and recent poor conversion rate. We've got a decent player and it's not in our interest to let him go for the kind of money that we're talking about now. We should offer him a new contract and fight to keep him.

Yeah it's not buy now pay all next summer neither.
Im honestly not trying to be argumentative, but nobody knows.

Transfers are normally paid over a number of years.

The clubs deferred payment for 12months, who is to say they dont then get the bulk the next Summer?

I am willing to admit its very unlikely that we will have to pay the full amount, but as I said in my follow-up, it will still very much be a decent amount.

Fulham paid 25m for Iwobi with 12 months left so that's likely the figure anyone interested would be bidding for DCL.

Going by what Thelwell said the club would likely accept it.
