Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

It's a tough one.

No idea if DCL has any extension option in his deal, probably not given there's been little in the press. Man. United are always extending deals of existing players by a year just to keep up value.

With two years left on his deal you just park any decision until summer 2025.

A new 3-4 year deal is a big commitment and the ownership structure simply isn't there at present. He also isn't going to be accepting any deal on reduced terms as with his age it's likely to be the last big contract of his career unless he gets back to 2020. His agent needs to be sacked if he can't find better offers from other prem or European sides.

Can Beto even be sold if the first payments to Udinese aren't due until this summer? So you'd be effectively fudging that and getting another side to pay a fee and those payments instead.

The current three certainly start next season and then it's a case of seeing how the opening 3-4 games go and then if there's a competent ownership structure in place.

If for example, we sold DCL £30mil, Onana £60mil, Godfrey, £10mil and Maupay £5mil

£100mil comes in.

Maupay and DCL out but Beto & Chermiti are there, 2 players for one position.

Onana & Godfrey leave we need 2 CMs and 1 RB.

Alot depends on how much of the £100mil goes on to the balance sheet & how much can be used on new players.

Even with £50mil, I think we can bring in 3 players and wont see a drop in team performance if the right players are signed.

Farke is terribly dogmatic mate, he got ponied with Norwich twcet trying to play the “right way” as if that exists.

They'll sack him if he wins 1-2 in his first 10 games. Leeds won't mess around this time giving managers longer than they should.

They appointed him purely to get them straight back up so all bets off regarding his long term future given his poor record with Norwich once in the premier league.

Ownership needs sorted. Converting loans into equity reduces the interest cost by more than you think.

100m doesn't come in. Don't Lille have a 25% sell on clause for Onana? Norwich might get a couple of million for Godfrey aswell.

Basically the summer boils down to selling Onana to pass FFP for next season.

Then selling unwanted squad players to pay the bills and basically survive.

Serious team restructuring will I think only happen with Branthwaite leaving. However the void he'd leave would mean that money probably having to go on the defence and other areas will be neglected.

Think the serious rebuilding will start in summer 2025 and that likely includes the manager.

Im well aware.

We need MSP to convert debt to equity. Then we need 777 to do the same, or I assume the same rules the premier league applied to 777 will apply to MSP -- paying off the other.

So lets say, MSP come in. Their debt is now equity & they pay off 777. We now only have one major debtor in R&M.

With a reputable owner the remaining loan can be restructured quickly or worst case when the stadium is built...which also increases revenue.

By end of May i expect we see movement from MSP & 1 or 2 other party's.

Im quoting the fees after clauses.

Posters mentioning survival is quite amusing to me...yet also obtuse and repetitive.

A billionaire owner isnt going to allow an asset like this to die. Likewise the firms owed money wont write a couple of hundred million off.

Just makes no sense to any of them.

You know our valuation will be not far off £1billion once the stadium is built.

No one is throwing that down the drain.

Onana is 20% of any profit.

So if we sell him for the likely 50m, that means 47m to us, 3m to Lille.

Any way we don’t sell him ?
Lots of ways.

The biggest being, well, I cant say it, its bad karma, but thats 1 way.

Ive been convinced for months, we had a very depleted squad once contracts and loans expire, but its looking likely Coleman and Young are staying, so thats a RB, not needed, *vomits.

We are telling people we dont want to sell him, I dont fully believe them, but it could be true and I think we hold out for an offer we cant refuse, but I think we break and he goes.

Different people will have different ideas about what an offer we cant refuse looks like, I think for us, thats 70m.

We need 5 players minimum. This squad is on it's arsenal. Only way we will get the 5, is if we sell someone early.

Unless we have a few free's lined up.
Goalkeepers
Jordan Pickford
João Virgínia
Billy Crellin

Right Backs
Séamus Coleman
Nathan Patterson
Ashley Young

Left Backs
Vitaliy Mykolenko

Centre Backs
James Tarkowski
Michael Keane
Ben Godfrey
Jarrad Branthwaite
Mason Holgate

Midfield
Amadou Onana
James Garner
Idrissa Gueye
Abdoulaye Doucouré

Wide Forwards
Dwight McNeil
Jack Harrison
Lewis Dobbin

Strikers
Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Youssef Chermiti
Beto
Neal Maupay

Hmmm, well, this is how the squad looks to me currently.

Ive assumed we are keeping Harrison.

Given that base, we probably need 1 player, numbers wise, Wide Forward.

We could lose a CB without replacing them.
We could lose a ST without replacing them.

If anybody else was to leave, they would need replacing, but for now, it could be said we dont really need anybody and yes, that terrifies me.

I am only talking from a purely numbers POV, quality and depth wise, its not good.
