Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

I really wanted us to take Ampadu a year or so ago, a really good player in there that just needed time on the pitch, Leeds player of the year, and cost buttons in reality.

I want to see us go down that way of finding value where the big lazy rich clubs don't want to see.

Plenty of young hungry players around that would kill to play for us.
Leeds wasting him at centre back!
There drop in form at the end of the season was when they took him out of centre mid and moved him back to centre back!

Bookies have us second favourite to get relegated already. Anticipating another points deduction? Anticipating that we will have to sell our best players and not be able to buy anyone decent? Seems strange that a team that earned enough points to finish 12th to be more in danger of relegation than newly promoted Ipswich.

Seems they are anticipating something similar for Leicester too.

Agree completely...would struggle even more at centre back in the prem.

I really like him, and would have been a good option for us in that middle.

That ship has sailed now though.

Yeah I saw that and it is very bizarre. Two days after the season has finished and Everton are odds on for relegation next season.

It could be weight of money as let's say we were priced up at 3/1 it wouldn't take too many hopeful kopites putting a fiver on to bring the odds down.

Let them waste there money!
Everton don't get relegated, that's our thing!

Nice to see Branthwaite in the England squad. Assume he will start one of the two games (or both) before the tournament.

Also, not an 'I told you so' with Wharton to those saying I cant pick a player, or those saying I only want us to sign 'kids' (Tarkowski?...

...but what a shame we couldnt move on him in January with a little more than Palace sealed the deal for (£18mil rising to £22mil).

If only we went in at £22mil rising to £25mil with payments kicking in July 1st onwards. We'd have had a ready made replacement for Onana.

I also think Trafford will turn out a decent keeper and Gray will get a call up within the next 2 seasons.

With Dyche as manager I really think we need to go for primarily English players. It may be a stereotype but I think generally they may suit his management style.

We had been linked a few times to Wharton so hopefully Thelwell picks one or two out who are diamonds in the rough.

James Trafford is absolutely shocking. Your view of a good keeper continues to baffle.

I mean Blackburn needed the money to survive, hence why they sold him in January. They were never giving us a payment plan.

I think most people said we couldn't afford him and they were indeed correct.
