Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

Are we looking at this Shankland at Hearts?

Top goal scorer up there. 24 last season 20s far this season.

Might be worth a punt if the price is right.

He's scored a couple for Scotland but pretty sure he went abroad and didn't do much. Nisbet was scoring at a decent rate last season and got Scotland caps but went to Millwall and hardly done anything and that's bottom end of the championship so can't really get on board with that being the star attacker signing of the summer.

Have a look at some of the attackers Celtic have although they'll probably be demanding big fees.

Callum Wilson
Nailed on.

He'd be a good pick up for any of the promoted clubs based on how he plays. Ideal for Leeds rather than them seeing Bamford waste endless chances in the six yard box. Or Southampton give he was at Bournemouth for years.

Wrong profile for this club as he's in his 30s, high wages and spent half the season injured. Or right profile if you look at it from another angle. 🤣

I think the most important signing to make this summer is actually finding a younger Doucoure type. Ultimately Dyche will still be here next season and so the style won't be changing anytime soon so another midfielder who won't be anything amazing in possession but will have a knack of getting on the end of scrappy play.

Doucs has 6 goals in 25 prem games. He scored in four of the seven wins in the Autumn that will probably keep this team up so having another talisman in the team in final third if he's injured again or sold is paramount.

Certainly a replacement for Onana. But our MF is still relatively strong in bottom half PL terms.

Pretty nailed on Gana will get another 12 months as he still starts most games he's fit for. Garner now back to being used exclusively in midfield. Doucs first name on the teamsheet in Dyche's mind so yes three regulars compared to others and just watching MOTD and seeing Josh Brownhill scoring you feel there will be something in the rumour as he's a freebie who Dyche knows and will be cheapish cover. So that's four for potentially two positions.

The trick with that area is finding someone younger who could do what Gomes did when he first came as at least his wages will finally be off the books so there should be some scope even if it's just picking a young player up on loan. I like McAtee at Sheffield United who's done o.k in a very poor team and the sort who can fashion a chance out of very little.

Maybe, just maybe… we go away from exclusively using 2 midfielders though, since it’s utter dung for us.

It's just the most stable part of the team whereas so many other areas need major surgery and regrettably Tarks-Branth will be split up most likely.

I can see Brownhill being confirmed early in the window which will go down like a lead balloon on here (think Young came in early July last year so similar timeline) but you'd like to think towards the end of the window a few younger exciting talents could be scouted and signed.

Onana came in after the first game of the 2022 season didn't he?

There’s no guarantee dyche will be here and if he wants to spend money on Brownhill or another doucoure , who can get a goal but is a terrible footballer. And as for a talisman, he’s had probably more poor games than good. He should be sacked on the spot

Brownhill's on a free so fits the bill as the GOT meltdown signing of the summer just as Young was last year.

Can see him and Johnny Evans being signed early and then take things from there once the departures start hitting in early July.

Worth a loan move ino that mcatee is a risk but a loan would be great gets us in early maybe with option to buy if works out. Can see us looking at that taylor at lb on a free.

Stop believing everything you read on twitter. And Burnley can trigger a year extension on brownhill, not sure if they have yet, but why wouldn’t unless they go down and he’s a top earner
