Everton Summer Transfer Thread - 2022

You're absolutely right . We, as fans , have no idea whatsoever exactly how bad our financial situation is.

We are told that we are working hand in glove with the PL to resolve our financial problems and that's why we won't be sanctioned.

But what does that actually mean ? That we can only spend 50% of what we receive in sales and bank the rest to reduce the deficit ? We simply don't know.

I think that we can however speculate that it is highly unlikely that we will have a spend over and above monies received in sales and that the overall wage bill will be lower next season than this.
What you do know is that the 2018 year will have been removed . WhilstI think you showed a trading loss in that year after FFP allowances you probably were in credit. I very much doubt that your 2022 numbers will match the 2018 numbers
As I have stated before you will have seen PL prize money drop significantly and add to that you will have been impacted by the cancellation of certain sponsorship but there again you made a bit for fees and of course gate receipts returned.
Its going to be a very close call and I suspect it will hinge around what happens before your accounting year ends
Spurs seem to be the only club that are pursuing your player and if that’s correct t you ain’t going to get big bucks if you have to get some money in before the end of the accounting year. Levy is an absolute [Poor language removed] and will use your weakness like no other

Yeah but we need to sell- as has been reported everywhere- urgently- to satisfy the Premier league. We cant just ignore it because its not convenient.
I thought we were OK as it stands, hence the reason Burnley and Leeds claims of unfair spending were given short shrift.

Needing to free up money to buy and not incur any scrutiny or sanctions due to incoming transfers is a whole different story. But it's not urgent is it? We might even be better off giving some like Mina new contracts to remain wage spend as the amortisation on their contract will soon be complete giving a bigger boost to our position in a season or two.

He's the one to watch. Going to be a top top player. Would cost a pretty penny as you say to get him, but will be well worth it.
With city being my home team, he’s one of the best talents of his age that we’ve brought through in a long time. ‘The guernsey grealish’ very old fashioned type of player, good ball carrier, likes to take a man on. Few rumours down here of Leeds and spurs looking at him. £10 million was the last I heard that got rejected. (Unsure how true)

Another player I’d hate to see us lose, who I think we might, (just sustained an injury though with could help city keep him) is Seymeno. He’ll be the next big sell for us. Finally adding goals to his game, but his all round play, assists. He’ll be a prem player in the future, but can imagine him costing a fair few £, depending how the contract situation goes. He’s one to take a look at. If you can find his goals for us away to fulham last season, you’ll see what I mean. He’d be a great replacement for richy, but again city looking for £20 million I think.

Roll up, roll up, Nymo going to fix the window. Let's shift Richy for £60-70m, Kean for £25 then reinvest. The below players, bar like 2-3, would be cheap as chips to get and fill up lots of vacant places where I think from the faux lineup we need about 6 signings:

CB
Moussa Niakhate (Mainz) - Heavily linked with Forest but they won't stump up £13m release clause.
Boubakar Kouyate (Metz) - Highly rated and just relegated with Metz so would be a snip compared to his £15m value in January.
Calvin Bassey (Rangers) - Expensive but left-footed and a beast. Last rumour was £25m.
Josip Sutalo (Dinamo Zagreb) - Almost as highly rated as Gvardiol who went for £15m so somewhere around/under that.
Eiran Cashin (Derby) - Available on a free.

Backup LB
Lee Buchanan (Derby) - Available on a free.
Destiny Udogie (Udinese) - Possibly a bit too attacking but another beast.
(I am of the opinion Nkounkou should be given the role though)

CDM
Ladislav Krejci (Sparta Prague) - Just sold their star player for £12m so somewhere under that. Reminds me of Matic when he was good.
Amadou Onana (Lille) - He's 6'5" need I say more?
Lucas Gourna (Saint-Etienne) - Might get ripped off and very young but Kante comparisons already.
James Garner (Man U) - Bit different to the others, maybe in the CM role and maybe a loan but seems decent.
Fredrik Aursnes (Feyenoord) - Wildcard pick from only a few viewings in the Conference League but gets around the pitch and looks a nuisance.

CM
Alex Scott (Bristol City) - Might get ripped off because he's English but great all round midfielder.
Enzo Le Fee (Lorient) - Tenacious and a passing master, average French side so won't be expensive. Linked away.
Nico Seiwald (RB Salzburg) - Most expensive on the list but baller. Last rumour was €20m.
Lewis O'Brien (Huddersfield) - Linked last Summer to Leeds for under £10m and now failed to get promoted so price won't be any different.
Abdou Harroui (Sassuolo) - Bit of a random one but I've enjoyed watching him play - does a bit of everything.
Jason Knight (Derby) - 12 months left on contract, snip for a few mill.

Winger (Either Side)
Ludovic Blas (Nantes) - Forever linked away from Nantes, peach of a left foot, very tricky. £17m last rumour.
Bryan Gil (Spurs) - One of the few classic wingers in world football now, available for loan, could be an easy one with Richy deal.
Keane Lewis-Potter (Hull) - Surely ends up going for around £15m in the end; looks a top finisher and can play 3 positions.
Ruben Vargas (Augsburg) - Great on both sides, decent delivery. Maybe under £15m? German sides don't really sell high.
Liel Abada (Celtic) - One I've seen least of but always looks to be in the right place to score. Last rumour was £17m.

Backup ST (Physical Option)
Terem Moffi (Lorient) - Strong, fast, left footed, bit of a maverick, cheap.
Mohamed Bayo (Clermont Foot) - See above but a righty. Last rumour was €10-12m.
Elijah Adebayo (Luton) - Battering ram, decent in the Championship, failed to get promotion. Maybe not for sale according to manager's quotes.
Erik Shuranov (Nuremberg) - Least experienced but always looked good for Germany U21's. Would be a project.

Bassey would be a great signing.

Love the Bryan Gil shout.

Had Semenyo on my list too but took him off when I read about the 3 month injury.

Nice scoutin' Tex

God that squad is looking grim atm.

Scott, Lewis-Potter plus a winger and a DM. Let's goooo.

Had Semenyo on my list too but took him off when I read about the 3 month injury.
Ye it’s a shame, not too sure about what’s happened. Blessing for city to keep. But delaying the inevitable. But he’s definitely be one to keep an eye on once he’s back fit. Can imagine being a big fee, but will have many clubs looking at him no doubt

Just ran a few number there, we have saved 85 mill in costs, wages and amortisation (if Richarlison goes) in the last 3 windows (including this so far) probably more as i didnt add Jamo, as his wage is so madly reported. That's before adding players we've signed in the same windows and net player trading. Our last set of accounts (the year we took on Allan, Duke and Jamo) we lost a 120 mill and had 90% -wage to turnover ratio.

If you subtract, 85 mill from 120 mill, its the magic number of 35 million for Profit and Sustainability compliance i.e. if you make a loss of 35 million, over three years its 105 million - the number of the Profit and Sustainability threshold over a three year period.

We're getting through the cost cutting, if we could cut more this window it would be welcome, we're getting toward ground zero in real terms even if the accounts publishing are lagging behind.
