Breaking it down to people panicking.

We lost our best player (arguable as I'd say Pickford is that and DCL when fit also ahead of Richy)

Brentford have lost the player that pretty much kept them up and was by a mile there best player in Ericksen
Leeds have or are about to lose their two best players.
West Ham are spending money but with the shadow of it being 'recouped' by selling Rice later in the window
Chelsea have effectively had their entire defence and strikers walk out for nothing.
United have lost there best player again for nothing.
Palace lost there best player last season when he returned back from his loan.
Villa are doing an us from 5 years back and buying overpriced and ageing dross by and large and if Gerrard was t a media lovie then questions would be getting asked as his record so far given the spend has been rubbish.
Wolves owners have pulled the plug on spending, pretty much stated they are sell to buy.
Saints are in an absolute mess and second half of last season like wolves where in relegation form.
Fulham are managed by Silva ?
Forest are a poor side and have massive holes now they've lost the loan players they had last season.
Brighton - lost their best player also.
Leicester- manager who looks on borrowed time now, losing one if their key players in Tielmans and Vardy getting older and more injury prone every season.

So all the doom and gloom from some about doomed to a relegation fight is kinda ignoring 1.that the window only opened a week and a half ago,and 2. That over half the teams in the league have problems themselves

We had the forum stoics posting stuff like this all last summer, too.

After watching the women's football last night, we should put in an offer for Beth Mead. Sensational.

I do seriously wonder though if we're reaching the point where we drop the gender divide in football. Why not have someone like Beth playing alongside other quality players, whatever their sex?

I'll leave a little space here for someone to make a joke about DCL's dress sense.

Every summer people come on and say stop bedwetting everything's fine we're going to be ace, and every year we get worse. It's genuinely bizarre the way some people just refuse point blank to accept what's going on right in front of their eyes.

Why not wait until the end of the window?

A proper dweeb shout that bedwetting crap and ironically a fair number of them do more crying, moaning and screaming about protests than the ones protesting.

Yeah and then why not wait until the end of the season to see how it pans out? Or maybe til the end of the 2025/26 season to see whether it turns out as a good window in the long run? I'll really miss you posting endless squad lists on a daily basis but you're right, we should just close the forum and reconvene at a later date to discuss everything with the benefit of hindsight, talking about stuff as it happens (or doesn't) is just pointless.

I think we are pretty much in the worst position with our financial restrictions having already lost our best player with a very unbalanced squad. We are severely lacking goal scorers. We are reliant on both DCL remaining injury free and Dele recapturing some form because outside of that we have no goalscorers. We could be good attacking set pieces with DCL, Tarks and Mina (if fit) but we have no one who can consistently put in a good ball

wasn't karamoko dembele tipped to be a huge prospect at celtic? just seen that his contract expired and he moved to Brest on a free this month.

suprised that a bigger club was not interested given the hype that surrounded him

what happened there?

I guess that makes us feel better...City, RS and Spurs to fight for the top 3 places and the rest of the league in a relegation battle.... ;)

Misery does love company.

Of course you are right though, hard to panic too much until the window closes.

We’re just taking our time and making sure we don’t rush and make any panic signings mate, we know what we’re doing just relax.
