They've always been quiet careful with spending. Although if Onana comes in that's 2 new CM's brought in this window, would probably expect Rice to move on.

If they can wrangle enough from Chelsea, they'll pull the trigger on Rice. They're very healthy as Prem teams go financially, so they could stand pat on Rice and Soucek if they really wanted to, or could somehow resign them. They wouldn't line up those deals if they thought it would leave them vulnerable to having the rug pulled out from under them on a pending sale.

Saw the same. He’s 28 but in the last year of his contract so price should be reasonable. Would solve the free kick issue anyway.
