Moaners out in force again I see in regards to Vinagre.

What happens if Mykolenko gets injured?

It’s a position we need cover in. No problems at all from me
That’s not the concern though. Yes, they may not rate Nkonkou and want cover, fair enough.

The concern is there are far more pressing areas of the squad that should have been addressed as a major priority; as in, all guns blazing.

Get your lb cover when you’re relatively happy with the rest of your business

Whilst Cornet has played there before, his best position is in the attacking positions...so having cornet covering left back is losing what could be an important attacking player if we end up signing him.
I agree, but I think with godfrey, nkounkou also there and arguably having more options in the final 3rd, it would be unlikely he goes there barring a crisis.

If we sign Vinagre, I imagine that means that the manager and staff don't rate Nkounkou. And if that's the case then fine, it's their job to make judgement calls on players.
exactly. The kid's young and can still be a good player but we need to be smart. Firstly if Lampard and Co feel he isn't good enough then great, make that call now. Secondly if there is a chance to make money then sell him. If the thought process is he's one for the future then find him a better loan than last year and reassess next summer. But if he's not part of the plans for now then move on and find someone who is.

Nkounkou is really bad defensively...and godfrey whilst can do a job at left back, left wing back is not a good position for him...not good enough with the ball. As emergency cover I would have godfrey for sure, but a bad injury to Mykolenko and potentially having to play godfrey for months there is not good for our survival.

Going back to Ancelotti days, he was in the squad then but when Digne got injured Godfrey played LB ahead of him. Didn’t get off the bench. Last year Benitez sent him on loan despite having no other cover. If this year Lampard and Cole don’t fancy him either it’s probably time to accept what all these guys are telling us. Some people are still clinging to that one time he looked good against Fleetwood.

God I remember watching that Vinagre on the first game they came up, and thinking “Wolves are alright here, but that Vinagre is garbage”, they ended up agreeing and now we’re possibly signing him.

Think he only played 14 mins, but, watched him closely ever since and he was equally garbage.

Everton that.

All true, but we haven’t got a functioning midfield. We don’t have a first eleven CDM. Reserve left back is surely a lower priority?

I can’t find any rule limiting us to two international loans, where did you see that?

The PL rules are here but all they say is the quotas don’t apply at all to international loans so there’s no limit stated.

Short answer is, I can't remember where I read it. I've tried googling it, but, nothing is clear. Perhaps the article was incorrect and has been taken down, who knows? We will see in then fullness of time, the fact still remains though, it would be wasting some of the very small amount of money we have to play with on a player who is,at best, average and plays in one of the few positions where we have cover. All very El Ghazi if you ask me.
