From reading on here and somewhat 'between the lines'...

Vinagre comes in as backup to Mykolenko for a season.

Nkounkou is sold which helps FFP / P&S

ISS potentially takes Vinagre's place by end of season (as @Eggs posted).

Makes sense all round.
Who is buying Nkounkou Zat?

As the idiom goes it's 'The sum of the parts'. Players do not have to be individually spectacular as long as they fit into the team and collectively make it stronger. It comes down to the system we play/adopt and whether those players are able to implement it. Seems we have spent far too much on the wrong type of individuals in the recent past who have simply failed to fulfil that task so I am happy to let Frank and his team get on with it and if Vinegre is considered to be the type of player we need then so be it. Ultimately, it's his future and credibility as a Manager/Coach that's on the line.

I have to say that with the details emerging that we're not paying a loan fee, and that we have an OPTION to buy but no obligation, it's starting to look a much more palatable deal than I first feared.

Is Ruben Vinagre going to set the world alight? No.

Is Ruben Vinagre VERY cheap? Yes. £15k per week is peanuts in the modern game.

Given the wage savings we've made with a load of players leaving, and the possibility of Keane, Gomes, Davies, Gbamin and/or Moise Kean also leaving in the next three weeks, we can afford £15k p/w for a backup LB.
Davies leaving ? Source ?

It's joke that we are so parcochial. Anyone who we appoint only looks to their last clubs. FL included. Are they all really this useless that they never watch other players, what are the scouts for? The club could read threads here, take axction and be more successful and a lot more profitable.

I agree with a lot of that but I wouldn’t like to think that people at the club got their player insight from read GOT threads either to be fair.

If we are able to openly discuss whether a 21 year old from France is any good, you’d hope they would be able to have the same conversation but with more knowledge and good data analysis to draw on too. We live in hope rather than expectation though sadly!
