Everton Summer Transfer Thread - 2022

Chelsea will surely buy a new striker in the summer. Anyone for a cheeky lukaku loan? Chelsea fans have not forgiven what he said and he needs games. Might suit both parties, can’t see him being a big part of their plans next season.

I have this theory that they will struggle to offload him and we will get him on loan on deadline day. It is a move that might actually appeal to him as he would be appreciated.

I would love to sell DCL and get in Toney as a replacement. Toney is an intelligent footballer. We don’t have enough of these. I would actually consider Juan Mata as a game changing option if he wants 1 more year in the prem

I think we should aim for younger players with some fight like Mykolenko this summer but we still need 1-2 ready made quality and Lukaku certainly is that.

He's approaching 29 and most clubs outside of the PL are still skint from the Pandemic. I think if we can offload DCL for a good inflated fee its not out the realms of possibility that we could bring him home with the guarantee of regular 1st team football week in week out.

Him and Richarlison up top man oh man

Said it back in January, I’d throw big wages at Eddie Nketiah, sadly that trap looks sprung in recent weeks.

Biggest thing really is who goes as financially it'll dictate what we can look at bringing in due to likely really tight oversight on FFP.

Best guess is besides the obvious out of contracts leaving, Delph, Iceland, Davies, JJK, we will look to actively move on Keane, Allan, DCL, Gomes then possibly Davies, Rondon, Mina, Townsend- if any takers for most of those.

Can see Davies, Townsend, Rondon being retained as cheaper squad fillers and dye to not really any interest in them. Mina is a wierd one as if he can stay fit no chance we'd get shut, but he simply can't.

Major rebuild needed and got to get it more or less spot on this time as the waste of the last 5-6 seasons has left us with little room now to make mistakes

When was the last time he changed a game

Player who went a year ago for 100m and is on sbout 300k pw, who also repeatedly acted a bell in his last few seasons here, in what world is that even remotely a good idea...

Completely wrong type of manager and system too, to get the best from him.

If we had kept Carlo, who's a great tactian and man manager you can sort of see some sense in it. However with the system weve got, we need players who are hungry.

Of the names you've mentioned, just cant see any takers at much beyond loans.

FWIW think Davies will stay, seems to like him and I think he will like his attitude and probably get more from him. Mina I think will also stay, but you hope Thelwell is looking at our medical people.

I sense Richarlison and DCL may go. Kean and Godfrey may also join them. I dont want to guess figures, but certainly upwards of 150m, with comfortable 100m of it in profit.

That will help resolve a lot of FFP issues, and also allow for a couple of years of sensible recruitment.

Delph might stay if he accepts an incentivised deal, which I dont think he will. I sense JKK may stay on a cheap deal for his versatility.

As for recruitment, wouldnt be surprised we we targeted some Chelsea academy players (maybe Sterling and/or the lad at Huddersfield) and wouldnt be surprised to see lads from the championship who are a bit unknown. Think Lampard wants people who will fight and graft, which seems to mirror what Thelwell likes.
