The Athletic report that Adams, 26, is a target for Frank Lampard as he looks to fill the strikerless void in the Blues squad. David Moyes’ first attempt to solve his central defensive issues have reportedly been snubbed after he made a loan bid for Everton’s Michael Keane.

Spot on mate, we desperately need a striker in, but, even without one, I think this squad is far less likely to be drawn into a relegation battle than last year's was. Richarlison will be a big miss, as much for his work rate as his goals, but, we seem to be using the money well.
I wouldn't say it's strange at all given how close we were to being relegated last season.
Obviously people want more.
Richarlison is gone, Calvert-Lewin is injured again and given that we don't have the Gueye deal over the line we need another midfielder. It'd be naive to place so much reliance on a 20 year old.

Unless we raise funds through sales I think we will largely be reliant on loans and these will come towards the end of the window as teams hang on with the hope of realising a sale. In the same way the players we would like to offload will probably end up as loans.

£10m for Dembele or Gyokeres, or £15m for Kalajdzic or Guirassy all sound like better options IMHO.
Dennis has a lot of talent like, would add someone who can make something out of nothing which I think we lack. 10 mil for Dembele does seem very good value tho.

The scale of our transfer activity in this window has been surprisingly positive, given all the noise at the end of last season regarding our apparent financial issues.
At some point however we have to rid the squad of the more expensive dead wood otherwise we simply perpetuate the same cycle of having to sell a star just to stay within the rules. At the same time I hope we've put a stricter wage structure in place for all these new arrivals: Tarkowski, McNeil and Onana need to be on lower wages than Mina, Richarlison and Gomes.
