Everton Summer Transfer Thread - 2022

Would be totally bizarre to sign someone like Guirassy this week, given he’s seemingly been available for ages and doesn’t get much of a game.

I was pretty sure we wouldn’t do our last deal(s) until deadline day. Brinkmanship and better deals to be had. Hopefully we’ll reach the point where we can have our business done ahead of time but at the moment we’re just not there yet.

Why is it these Italian sources keep talking like Juventus are selling Kean when he’s technically still just on loan to them, none of them have said in weeks that Juve are going to activate the obligation they have to pay next summer, now, in order to sell him
I have a bizarre deadline day deal dream according to this. We let Kean go for “free“ to Juventus and they send him to Lyon and we get Moussa Dembele instead. It would be a win-win situation at least for Everton and Juventus .

Good morning all…….

Despite an endless stream of recent links none of these have materialised into deals. Indeed, with time ticking down Moshiri et al must ensure Frank has what he needs to press on.

‘Judge us at the end of the window’……..

Chelsea will move for Ivan Toney if they miss out on Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, this is according to The Daily Mirror. They claim that Chelsea and Everton have joined Manchester United in weighing up moves for Ivan Toney from Brentford.

According to 90min, the arrival of Casemiro could spell the end of Scott McTominay’s career at Manchester United. Newcastle United are long-term admirers of the Scotland international, although Everton, Southampton and Leicester City are also keen on a potential move for the 25-year-old

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri reportedly does not see Leeds United target Moise Kean as part of his plans for this season.

According to Calciomercato, both Leeds and Newcastle are willing to shell out £17million in order to sign the 22-year-old this summer.

Premier League rivals Everton have joined Manchester United in the race to sign PSV Eindhoven star Cody Gakpo this summer, according to [Publication Blacklisted]

PSV are only expected to decide on Gakpo’s future after the Champions League play-off second leg against Rangers.

In chase of Mohammed Kudus, Everton have received a blow. According to the Dutch outlet De Telegraaf (via Football Oranje), Ajax have not received any offers for Kudus. Contrary to reports, Everton have not yet submitted any bids or offers to Ajax to acquire the 22 year old.

Furthermore, the Eredivisie giants are not in favour of selling Kudus this summer. The Ghanaian arrived at Ajax in January 2020 for a fee of €9 million. He has grown as a player and has attracted the attention of clubs across Europe but Ajax are not willing to sell him.

Kudus has had terrible luck with injuries, missing a total of 41 games since joining Ajax. It appears that he has put those days behind him and is fully fit for the new season. The Eredivisie champions are not willing to listen to any offers until the end of the transfer window, so the Toffees may have to leave it late to sign Kudus.

Everton have made an approach to sign Manchester United midfielder James Garner, who’s available for £15million, according to the Sunday People. The newspaper reported via their print edition on 21 August (page 57) that Man United are “willing to sell” the 21-year-old defensive midfielder with Leicester and Southampton also interested in signing him.

Everton could make an offer in the coming hours for Rennes striker Serhou Guirassy after having fresh contact with the French club, according to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia. It is now suggested that Everton could firm up their interest as soon as in the coming hours by slapping in a bid.

Guirassy has clocked just 22 minutes of game time in Ligue 1 for Rennes so far this season.

Everton are “probably in pole position” to sign Southampton striker Che Adams, according to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

According to the Daily Mail, Everton have ‘made a move’ to sign Adams, although they face stiff competition from Nottingham Forest, Wolves and Leeds.

I'd take Guirassy on a season loan tbh purely for using him how Rennes do as an impact sub, still need another in though to start when DCL is out.

Standout link is Garner, at his age and for that price it's an absolute no brainer, we've needed a proper defensive mid since Barry and this lad is reminiscent of him. Can't underestimate how having a specialist player in that role will free up the midfielders to actually get forward more (especially Onana)

Had the joy today I think it was footy insider of reading how Leeds are gonna buy Kean from PSG if they after his loan spell at Juve mate.

Felt I'd dropped into an alternative universe

Heads need to roll for this disgraceful, shambolic transfer window.

I want to see resignations and apologies.

Where are the board? Do they only talk when there is good news or stadium stuff to talk about. Too busy patting themselves on the back to get the right players in.

I am sure the Owner and Board are scrambling around as we speak to ensure you're satisfied mate lol
