We have a PL proven striker not prolific but can score goals in this league (Maupay) so we know longer have to put Rondon in the team

Hopefully we get some fitness and form out Dominic Calvert-Lewin this season.

Gordon has started well and let’s hope he rises to the hype.

Garner was scoring and assisting in the championship last season, our midfield last season contributed next nothing goals wise last season.
Gray is scoring this season too

It's the lack of options which is mad. Dominic Calvert-Lewin can't be relied on to be fit so then we essentially just have Maupay as a striker because Rondon isn't one. We don't even have any kids as an option because they've all gone out on loan.

Even our other attacker options are lacking. Townsend won't be back until new year, imagine if Gray or Gordon or both at the same time picked up an injury. We'd have to move Iwobi out wide or Vinagre.
And we always get injuries.

We lost Richarlison (and Dele who at least had a history of scoring goals). No way have we upgraded.

So an attack of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and maupay is better than an attack of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and richarlison? OK mate
I think Maupay is better than you're giving him credit for, he'll suppise a few here, he's a very good player.

Defensively we'll miss Richarlison but Gordon will comfortably improve on Richarlison's goals tally whilst Muapay won't be too far behind him, if he's behind at all. He'll certainly replace Gordon's goals from last year.

It will not be hard for DCL too improve on his 2021/22 tally.

In the meantime, the back door's been closed and we now have an outstanding midfield 3, with only City having better.

We’ve been here before, 2008 no one signed by deadline, everyone wakes up to find we signed Fellaini

2012 January - all day spent tying the Jelavic deal up and having the City game to focus on, we re-sign Pienaar on loan last min

2013 - Barry, McCarthy, Lukaku all in the final 2 hours

There’s other examples but you get my point, think there’s a twist somewhere, either Broja last min or we throw £20m and a Warrington loan at Blackburn for Brereton-Diaz

Mate just don’t do it to yourself.

Read that as Benni McCarthy and thought "I don't remember him playing for us"
