No, but even worse the accounts are bad, so the club would have trouble spending money if it had any.

Not really - if you believe that fella on ze twitter our losses over the 3 years prior to this one (which I assume will be a profit based on selling Digne and moving on James/Benards wages) was £85 million with the PL rule limit being £105 million.

Assuming we posted a small profit this year on top of potential sales of Kean and Gbamin this summer they'll be **some** room to maneuve.

Do we actually have any money?

Nope and it's why we will either 1.have to sell a player we don't want too (DCL, Richy, Pickford). 2. Suddenly develop the ability to shift on players we don't want or who aren't good enough for decent fees or ANY fee (Gomes, Allan, Kean, Keane, Holgate, Davies etc.) Or 3. Actually be amazingly good and clever st recruiting and the structure of various deals to get around FPP for the coming season.

In theory the best option is 2 and 3 combined, try to bring in 40-50m which we can use to facilitate 3 to brings better calibre of player in (higher loan fees, possible targeting of players whose value hasn't peaked yet etc)

Chances are we go with the easier option of 1 though as it takes less work and effort - it's the short term approach to a problem we customarily have always chosen under Bills time here.

If we could keep the three key assets in DCL, Richy, Pickford and then add 40-50m worth in well structured deals then we could actually have a half decent squad going in the right direction

That depends on the fee, the wages, the term, and if he becomes unsaleable.

In short, DCL out/Toney in equals an improved financial/accounting position. Everything else is guesswork.

Personally, wouldnt do neither, unless we have to.
But the emphasis on that is selling DCL. We could sell DCL and sign just about any striker and be in a better position. The signing Toney part isn't really doing much.

Thought so

It’s times like this I miss Moyes most of all

Joking aside though Mikey, the past two windows we actually did good deals

Gray, Patterson, Mykolenko and Delli for roughly 25-30m is fantastic business. As was getting a player on loan who'd cost 40m in VdB.

Now if we could replicate those types of deals with 50-60m then we could see very good benefits on the team.

We need a window like the first under Bobby in the loan market I feel, two top quality players that fill huge gaps in the team, just imagine the effect Barry and Lukaku added into this team would have.
