McNeil would have made sense under Benitez but not so much under Lampard who likes his wingers to play a bit more as forwards.

I think he's a decent player but not what we need and would be an underwhelming signing for me tbh

I think it depends on the system. In the sort of 3421 we’ve played a bit, including Sunday, the two “wingers” play quite narrow and get back to support the midfield while the wing backs provide the outright width. McNeill as more of a technical player than a pace merchant arguably is quite well suited to that “wide AM” role.

Percy is pretty reliable. And I really can't stand McNeil. He's one of the main reasons Benitez had to go for me. Benitez was determined to sign him and he's such a poor player. There isn't one thing he would bring to this team and we are wasting very limited budget on a player who should not be starting ahead of Gray, Gordon, Townsend or Iwobi - none of whom are good enough if we are honest.

This is a proper shambles.

He's really nowhere near as bad as you're painting him.

McNeil works hard for the team but considering we’ve lost Richarlison and are desperate for quality in the final third, creativity, goals and assists - he doesn’t really bring that.

Another like, Gray, Townsend - can do a job in a squad but good enough, consistent enough to start every week. Don’t think so.
