Every CB who plays next to him falls to pieces. All he does is stroll around thinking he's Maldini before long passing it out for a GK.

People cant moan about Benitez not getting us challenging for Europe whilst in the same breathe believing players like Holgate are good enough for this club.

The year before he was really good, a couple of years before he went to West Brom he was good too. His career here has been very up and down.

He was absolutely awful last season and his head seemed to be all over the place. Will he ever go back to being good, possibly not, but I do feel a lot of his issues are to do with the mental side of the game rather than the physical. All the traits are there for him to be a top defender.

I wouldn't shed any tears if he got sold but I don't think its just as black and white as "nah hes crap" with him either.
 
I don't understand the Ben White link at all, we've got 4 CBs in thd squad and 2 younger ones coming through. Maybe it's the agent, trying to get Arsenal to up their bid. Only other thing I could see is we are selling 2 CBs.

We have a new manager though. He may not rate any of them. Pretty important to get that aspect right for a manager who sets up strong defensively and works from there.

He wasn't really good a couple of years ago same as Godfrey wasn't last year which we will all figure out as soon as a newer, shinier defender is in the door. Hopefully Ben White for 50m isn't that guy though. That's outrageous.

2 young ones coming through? , Holgate is 24/25 and had a Very good half season in 5yrs

also with the link to Dumfries, who suits wing backs, maybe we’re going to 3 CB’s. And then we would need 5
 
Rafael will have torn up all of Brands targets. he will want to spend the whole budget. And I don't blame him. Imagine where we'd have been if somebody other than kendall had been signing the players in the 80s. The whole thing of having two different people on coaching and recruitment is nuts.
