There is absolutely no chance of anyone offering 30m pounds for Mason Holgate. Be surprised to get more than £10m. His form last season was really bad.

There is absolutely no chance anyone would pay 34 million for Iwobi either, his form has never been good….ever!

Holgate is one of our lower paid first team players that’s normally the reason the price gets driven down. Bernard for example, we will be lucky to get 10 million for him

For young, established premier players who are English there will always clubs willing to pay.

So 1 decent striker for 1 decent but always injured and 1 never done it in the PL.

I think Southgate prefers Mings as he has more of the 'big grock' quality when Maguire is missing. White isn't a tall centre-half, he and Stones would be too similar. Godfrey as the pure athlete and White as the 'brains' in a partnership is, to me, the natural long term England partnership after Maguire in the next three or four years.

I think White has a very high ceiling in terms of potential. You can easily see him being worth £70m in four years time, and I think it's a risk free signing in terms of the quality he'd offer immediately. He's not one of those signings that's a gamble IMO. I'd be all for binning off two of Mina/Keane/Holgate and bringing White in.

Do I think it'll happen? Unfortunately, no. I think this is newspaper nonsense.

I'd worry about a lack of commanding presence at CB with both White and Godfrey.

They are both very good players but not too sure that either really attacks the ball in the air.

Some people genuinely believe we would replace DCL with some 20 goal proven CF who's plying his trade at a CL club.

We've just come 10th and 12th in the table if DCL ends up going you either go down the road of potential/experience combo or take a punt on someone like Tosun/Sandro from a midtable overseas club and hope it works out.

We are the only club in the world who would pay 34m for Iwobi. I don't think that's a sensible transfer to base the market on.

There will be buyers out there for Holgate of course, but there will be no buyers at 30m and the market will have him closer to 10m.

Bernard is someone we just need to look to offload. I don't think we'll get close to £10m. Probably more like 3 or 4.

What if he wants out though? DCL wont give a toss about Everton - at best you make a verbal agreement for him to give us 12 months like with Stones but ultimately if a Utd or Chelsea come calling I doubt we would stand in his way if they offer big money and risk keeping an unhappy player.

It's the mentality I'm concerned about. Not the specific player.

"Don't buy a top striker, we've got DCL." How do we ever improve as a club if that's how the majority on here react?

Well he might but haven't really got that impression so far. We have a long history of being wank at replacing our good players so might be best if we stopped actively going for it.
