You also wonder, given the friendly dynamic between Usmanov/Abramovich if something could be worked out.

Upwards of 60m would help a lot re FFP too, but also give us the opportunity to probably go on a big spending spree.

Some people genuinely believe we would replace DCL with some 20 goal proven CF who's plying his trade at a CL club.

We've just come 10th and 12th in the table if DCL ends up going you either go down the road of potential/experience combo or take a punt on someone like Tosun/Sandro from a midtable overseas club and hope it works out.

So why sell him, then, if we can't adequately replace him?

Thing is its ok saying replace Dom but with who? Did you see how many years it took for us to replace Rom? I would be much more open to selling Richy. We need to keep Dom and build around him he isn't even at his peak value and he is too central to us. Unless someone comes in with a ridiculous 100m bid we keep this season at least. I see him going to Manchester in a few years but selling him now would be premature and counter productive.

Digne and Mina aren't too shabby. And when James actually played, he was probably the best baller I've seen in a blue shirt if I'm being honest. They don't all work out like Schneids

Big risk selling DCL without a back up that's proven or at least shown potential. We risk losing our main goal scoring threat and having to find two new strikers to fill that gap. Perhaps sell him, if there is interest, after another year, but not this summer.
