There will come a point when players won’t join them to sit in the bench. I bet if you asked Ake, he may rethink his decision if he had the chance.

While it’s great to join the best team and get loads of money. Ultimately it’s surely about playing.
According to the athletic there were a number of their players who were narked by the lack of playing time and were looking for moves away - you can definitely have too big a squad particularly if they all see themselves as first teamers

Idk, they’re getting paid the highest wages to do half the work, whilst still being successful. Most of them do get decent playing time but aren’t run into the ground

I'd take Phillips for £60m without hesitation. He's an excellent player who would slot in to a position of urgent need (DM) as a day one starter. He's Prem proven, ticks the Home Grown box and allows our two best existing MFs to concentrate on box-to-box play. At 25 years old he is just now coming into his prime and to see him in royal blue for the next three to five seasons would be a massive upgrade for us.

Obviously I'd rather pay less, but £60m would not be overpriced. The issue would be that unless we sell Kean for £40m+ it's hard to see how we drum up the cash because we need to spend around £80m on a RW, a LW and a RB too.
In what world do you think Kalvin Philips wants to leave his boyhood club for a team that finished below his newly promoted side and who plays for a manager who loves him and he loves playing for.

I would say this has a 0.00006% of happening.

Coutinho snub
Isco rumoured.
AC Milan interested in Isco....

But they're about to sign James....

Lots of stuff going off there.

Can we just stop sniffing around formerly great players with horrible fitness records?! Moshiri is utterly obsessed with names. I know we can't attract current superstars but let's at least try to start recruiting future superstars rather than buying former ones.

Coutinho and Isco would be bad signings, not because they are rubbish, but because they won't play a full season, they will cost loads in fees and wages and they won't be the least bit arsed about being here.
