I really really don't rate Townsend, but a one year deal is okay. He is more suited for the wing than Bernard or Iwobi so could surprise a few incl. me.

I read yesterday that Man City are raising £100m in fees for a bundle of players who have hardly played for the first team. To no ones surprise, I have heard of none of them.

I think it's nearer £50m to be fair.
Selling a few players like Patrick Roberts for circa £10-£15m a pop.
That's part of the reason for investing heavily in the academy. You get the
very rare jewel like Phil Foden but you also get a lot of players you can
sell for good money - so it effectively funds itself.
