I remember them all well, but I think the Bailey hype is been the biggest.

I personally quite like Dwight McNeil, but I'm not convinced we will be able to sign either of them. I'm not sure we can afford the players we need based on our early business.

Bailey is at this point a class above McNeil

I don’t know what people want anymore. We were crying out for wide players who would put a shift in last season. Now we’ve moved quickly to get two at low cost who can fit with DCL’s style of play, both extremely hard working, both want to be here, but people are moaning because it’s not a bloke from a mid table Bundesliga side who they’ve probably never seen play.

People want good players. That's really all it is. Andros Townsend is not a good player so people do not want him.

And just because you've not seen Bailey doesn't mean no one has. Leverkusen are also in Europe. As in better than us.

A cursory look at the highlights reel of Gray and Townsend and what is most noticeable is their desire to work back defensively. We’ve not had that since Richalrison decided to put a shift in on the left in 18/19, before that you’re probably looking at Pienaar. That’s why they’ve been brought in in my view.

Wide players who can provide the service our striker needs, add pace to the team, and might finally help us defensively not be so wide open. Booooo.

I've not seen him play often enough to have an opinion. Other than CL games, I don't see much of teams in other leagues.

People want good players. That's really all it is. Andros Townsend is not a good player so people do not want him.

Who decided Townsend isn’t a good player? The palace fans love him. He’s not world class, but people are making out like he’s an absolute chump, he’s far from it.

I have seen Bailey, and whilst he looks fairly good in the bundesliga the reaction to a rumour of our interest in him has been wildly over the top.

Plenty of creative players out there who can also keep fit, tackle, press, have pace.

Few with James' ability, few who would come to Everton, few who we could afford.

If we sell James, we will use the money towards RB and RW (which we need) but will then be left with a huge gap in the middle. That's probably where these sickening Barkley rumours are coming from - we're probably looking at getting him in on loan to replace James if he goes - which would be diabolical.

A club like ours should not be moving on the few quality players we have. Unless it is for a huge fee.
