Everton Summer transfers 2021

I'm cautiously optimistic about these free transfers and 1.5m signings. It would be nice to get a bit of what Moyes bought to the club back, ie a bit of fight and spirit.

We've truly lacked this over recent times as the 40m and 20m plus players think they should, and usually were regulars on the team sheet by default. These new lads will fight for a right to play and Rafael will have no hesitation in using them. Fighting for your place makes you fight on the pitch to keep your place, having players in the team and on the bench who are only there because they were expensive or have no competition is not the way to go......as proven.

Agreed, the 2 lads have something to prove, they might not prove it, but for me its a decent gamble.

Much better than spending 34m an Alex Iwobi based on some stat virgins.

100%. It's the way a team like Everton should build a new squad, get some depth rather than squander the budget on chancers. I'd like to think a couple of high-ish profile signings may happen, maybe chuck an Ings or a Maddison in to the mix with these lads and maybe we will just turn this corner we've been stuck at for so long.

But we don’t produce any good players???
Even so we can still buy them young and develop them. Like we did with DCL and should have done with Vlasic and Lookman and hopefully will do with Nkounkou. Not sure this manager we have is interested in that though.

Big difference with these lads compared to the higher end signings which became failures is they all have premier league experience. Tosun, Gomez, Bernard, all big money/wage signings but the league devoured them. I repeat, I'm very pleased with this approach. If it fails well so be it, however I cannot see it being any worse than when we splashed the cash on wild punts. Hope Gray wears his Premier League Championship medal in the dressing room, jeez Gerrard never got one of them.
