How many times, it isn't FFP it Premier league profit and sustainability rules, but apparently the wealth of the owner isn't taken into consideration, hence having to jiggle the books. In what other type of business is the owner not allowed to sink however much he wants into it?

It all stinks, is rigged and to be honest, let the scabs go and have their league because the way it is nobody has a bloody chance unless a one off like Leicester(I don't think that will happen again any time soon either)

This has been coming for awhile. City, United and Chelsea have more money than anyone can compete with so long as they spend it semi-wisely. Even the RS are screwed if Klopp leaves and they have like 2 bad years. We've already seen how far the North London clubs have fallen off. And Leicester although currently pretty good is also pretty far off of those sides for me.

Big 6 is really Big 4 at the minute. And everything is set up so that doesn't change. We need a salary cap or something along those lines. This sustainability mess is dressed up as protecting the small clubs when it is really to protect the "brands" of the bigger clubs. Can't have them start losing.

You're spot on with this. I see a lot of people angry and surprised at the way FFP/STCC is playing out, and almost aghast there is not some action on it. It misses the point, that this is not some aberation of the regulation, this is the designed function of it. It is designed to bake in and normalise inequality and unfairness.

There is a wider question here too. The next system in the ESL will not be as loose on the City's/Chelsea's of this world. If the other teams leave, City/Chelsea will have almost free reign to dominate the domestic and European game, which will still have big viewers. I'm not sure the pull of the ESL, where they will be a lot more stringent rules on them aiming to make them the also-rans will automatically mean they want to go.

The whole system is a joke, and football's governers are a joke. If armageddon comes (which I don't think it will) it would be the least those in charge deserved.

Villa did the same thing when they got promoted, spent over £100m and just survived by the skin of their teeth, only this time around they are genuinely buying quality.

Easy midtable finish, wouldn't suprise me if we finish 9th again and villa around 6-7th.

You'll finish well ahead of them. Great core of young players in Saka, Smith Rowe, Tierney, White etc. Maybe two or three of Villa's players would get in your side, including, unfortunately, the keeper but not more. Partey should be up to speed now as well.

And a clown clueless manager who has no idea what he's doing, goes and gives Willian £250k a week, Xhaka a payrise and still plays elneny. We're finishing 8-9th.
