On semedo, he tied up and assaulted a man in his home, then went to the guys house to burgle it. charged with attempted murder. Got a gun out in a bar in Valencia and threatened to shoot someone.

Pleaded guilty to kidnap, robbery, wounding and illegal firearm possession... Got a long sentence but paid a load of money and left the country. Banned from coming back to Spain for eight years.

Interesting character.
Sounds like our kinda guy. Makes Joey Barton seem like an angel.

Disappointing window for now. However, I have no clue about the state of Everton’s financial situation or other factors, FFP for example, but Everton should only buy if it is prudent and improves the squad which is something they have not been very good at in recent years. Currently the outlay is small but the acquisitions do seem positive to a degree in improving the squad. Arsenal for example have spent £30 m today on Odegaard, nothing special in my opinion, and have agreed terms for Ramsdale £24m I believe. I would take Everton’s acquisitions and the outlay over Arsenals if I’m honest. Don’t need to acquire more Iwobi’s and alike just for the sake of it
Odegaard isn't a bad shout at that price because he's got a ton of talent, but he didn't make a huge impact last season on loan. But can you imagine the fume if we were spending £24m on Ramsdale? Good lord. I thought that was a joke when I first heard it. I would be so uneasy as an Arsenal fan with the club spending so much money on players without getting better. Very Everton like. And they'll probably bin Arteta as soon as any big name manager flirts with them, who will want his own players.

Like you said, disappointing overall, but does leave me a bit less uneasy.

Not as if we are going to be playing a competitive game in Spain in the next 8 years.

Welcome to Goodison Semedo.

Odegaard does have potential but it is a big fee based on what we know. Ramsdale spent the last two years in a pinball machine with shots coming from every angle so difficult to say if he is good or bad. However, big leap of faith to stump up £24 m especially when Arsenal have more pressing needs in other areas

Longstaff would be someone like Gray who if he was available for peanuts and we lacked in the position would probably be a decent punt. In our state though £10m for a lad that can't get into Newcastle's team when we already have a load of naff in that position to begin with would be madness. Get rid of Delph AND Gomes then maybe but we absolutely don't need another non-creative CM in this squad at the minute.

Starting right back and winger are far bigger priorities for us which we've all said for literally 2 years now. With Gbamin coming back unless we're going for a creative midfielder there's not really much use in trying to bring another in, squad is too full of players that are too similar where you're just replacing like for like just with lesser quality instead of changing it up or adding more dynamism.
