Not the ideal back 3 in a 5. You can’t have Keane and Mina getting dragged out the the full
Back positions.
If we do go that way, we wouid need 5 CB so a left sided one, who’s technically very good as Holgate showed today he’s pretty poor in possession. Also we need another quality Centre midfielder.

If one was available then yes. My worry is when looking around the prem that most teams are struggling with their goalkeeper. I’d rather not waste money on someone just as bad as Pickford. If we could find a Nigel Martyn type for a decent fee though then absolutely.

As @Stephenlloyd says below, you cant play Keane and Mina in a 3. Thats why Keane was dropped against City and Holgate/Godfrey were in there.
Saint Maximin isnt the level we should be aspiring to and certainly our first 11 with Gomes / no right back isnt going to do much.
Even in a 4 (diamond) we'd still need a RB + CB + 2×CM to step up a level.
In a 3 i think we need the same.
If we bring in one wide player then we need another for the left + backup/rotation options unless you want to see Iwobi playing consistently and/or Gordon starting numerous games at this stage.
Starts to look expensive and would probably take a window or two just focusing on attacking wide signings to get it right.
However if we go with a 3 and switch to a diamond sometimes then we just need the 4 players i mentioned above to have quality and depth everywhere.
If most teams are struggling then most teams need to upgrade them. We need to upgrade ours. Plenty of better keepers than Pickford out there.

Which of them would you try to get? I know that not all of are possible, because bigger teams with bigger paychecks will try to get them, but it could be worth trying to get at least one free agent player.

Kenny, Delph, Tosun these 3 definitely need to go I would accept any offers for them. Would also contribute towards wages if that's what's needed.
Kean is likely to want out and may be the best way of us generating funds for the 4 essential players.
Sigurdsson, Iwobi, Bernard, Gomes, Coleman these 5 I would consider offers for but could accept them staying for another season as squad fillers. Ideally at least one of Sigurdsson/Gomes leaves and one of Bernard/Iwobi.
I would bring in RB, RF, AM and GK.
If Sigurdsson and Gomes go would need another 2 CM. Bernard and Iwobi would be covered by Gordon coming back as 6th choice forward however if they both left we would need another ST/LF as a bench option. If Coleman left we would need a 2nd RB preferably one that can also play LB comfortably.
If someone came in with a really good offer for Holgate/Keane/Mina I would sell and bring in a left footed CB to partner Godfrey but this is an area of least concern at the moment.
