I'm not saying the money doesn't matter. 50m and 150k a week is too much. But 30m and 120k a week? That's pretty palatable for me.

For guaranteed quality i would agree. Thats not what we would be getting tho. His stats for a better team than ours are not very impressive. He can still develop and improve, but 120k a week for potential is crazy imo.

He's more guaranteed quality than you get in 99% of 20 year olds. And has higher potential than the same percentage.

I dont think i need too look too long to find other 20yo wingers who scored more than 2 goals in 23 games for far weaker teams than Chelsea.

Lingard looked worth that on loan at West Ham

Certainly in the first 10 games he was amazing. He had only scored 18 league goals for Man Utd in his 134 apps up until then and he suddenly scored 9 in 10 games for West Ham. He then reverted to his usual standard for the last 6 games of generally not doing a lot. To be honest he’d fit in at Everton perfectly
