Still can’t get my head around that, makes no sense for anyone involved, esp Mbappe, he could be picking up most of that fee to sign on next year, plus whatever they offering him a week (I’d guess is £600k p/w or so)

He defo need an extension or selling. Thing is he’s already on £120k apparently and I’m not sure he’s worth that, so is he going to extend for less (or even the same) - doubtful.

Totally agree, however I’m not convinced he’s the in the top echelon of CB’s who should be commanding £120+ p/w. Certainly can’t see anyone paying more than we did for him @ £25m or so, which kind of indicates his level.

I totally agree, it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. Especially when you factor in that Madrid are not at risk of losing him by playing the waiting game either. The player has reportedly made it crystal clear that he wants Madrid and nobody else, and will sign for them either now of on a free next year.

So Real Madrid are paying 180 million, just to have a young player 12 months early. That’s incredibly fishy to say the least..

I agree with this synopsis. Good defender but not top for the money he is on.
If we sell him it will be for less. We will probably keep him because he is better than our options.

He's a good player, but it's a lot of money plus throwing a player of James' quality in.

Look, he'd be a good signing, but we still lack any player who can control any period of a game if we shift James - which I know it seems like we have to.

People don't get it do they. We're losing our creativity, especially with Sigurdsson out of the equation too.

I know we'll be playing a different style but when it isn't working who do we turn to?
