I'm happy with the signings we made, Gray, Townsend, Rondon, Begovic, the main ones. We could have made a couple more signings, a RB obviously, and I would have liked to have seen a top CM which would give us more options in the middle.

In past years we could have spent like 50m pounds on those 4 signings... but we made off like a bandit there.

Another point regarding the season we got 4th. We got 61 points, I’d like a bet that’s the lowest ever to get 4th. Martinez finished 5th with 72. Who beat Moyes best points total in his first season.

I’m sure the 2nd half of that season we got something like 20 points out of the last 19 games. Bottom 6 form that. Luckily Liverpool were concentrating on the champions league. Abs the 2 other monster clubs pushing us for 4th spot, yes that’s right. Middlesbrough and Bolton.

He did a very god job under the circumstances, but he was a safety first manager and that’s a fact. And I don’t think he will change. I think there was a stat, That we went like 5 yrs not winning a game away from home,

Btw, if anybody reads the Koeman thing from Pjanic today, let's reflect back to how a lot of us backed Koeman (myself included) over that at the time.

Factors like that have contributed to why I'm now so cynical of the club. And when I see sycophantic pieces in the media, kissing up to Benitez or being 'oh it's just so hard for poor old Everton', then I just laugh. Because it's pathetic from the club.

The Esk gets his fair share of stick (and maybe fairly so sometimes), but he called out The Athletic article yesterday and rightly so. Yeah, it went into detail about how we struggled, but there was no criticism of it, no questioning over why we're in this mess and what we're doing to get out of it.

Everton need a PL level right back to complete with Coleman now not JJK. Sign Aurier on a 2+1 deal as stop gap.

Begovic will get an extenion as back-up next summer.

Kenny, Delph, Sigurdsson, James, Tosun and Lonergan will be released in summer 2022. Just look at the wages that are going to be saved here. Astonishing.

Benitez may have some clout for a January signing because of the standard of his deals.
We could still go for the Spurs rb, but I’m not sure.

Newcastle fans have made such a racket that their club haven't made any signings apart from the purchase of a loan player that the board have come out to say why .
We didn't get such a press release . I still wouldn't like to trade places with them , poor sods .

Agree with most of that until we got to the bit about us bringing in 1 or 2 in January. I doubt we’ll do much in January unless things on the pitch are going terribly. They’ll wait till the summer, clear some more of the wage bill, but, even then, I think any big signings will be dependent on Richarlison going for big money.

Sell to buy for the Everton for the next few windows I think.
