Everton Summer transfers 2021

I like Mina but if someone is interested and it's the right price I would definitely sell. Its a shame as him and James are good friends but if its for the greater good of the team it needs done. If he wants to go anyways its positive all round.

We’re definitely signing a centre back, all these rumours can’t be completely off. How many, 1 or 2?

I agree, but I am surprised as that’s the one position I thought had been solved.

Me too, makes me wonder what our actual priorities are...

We have 3 attackers in James, DCL and Richarlison along with 2 defenders in Digne and Godfrey who I could imagine being in a team that not only consistently finishes top 4 but also does well in the champions league.

If Pickford continues his recent performances and his mentality remains cool and calm he could join that list.

Ancelotti will want to have a solid defence and so should add to Digne and Godfrey by signing a right back and centre back.

The only area left would then be midfield which is 'servicable' but no doubt we will be adding players there this summer and next summer to complete the first 11.

By the end of summer 2022 we should have a very strong first 11.

Leeds attackers are impossible to scout. They've got about 8 people running forward at all times. It would be hard not to look decent. Harrison has been similarly good imo and I wouldn't want us anywhere near him. Add in the price and it isn't really a good deal for me.

Wouldn’t say that myself to be honest mate, I think he actually struggled in the first third of the season, but really got to grips with this league from that point on, I think he’s something a bit more special then a Harrison, though I think even he’s a bit understated myself, though not for is.

Raphina at 24, is the right age, with the right head room, first year in the league, is on course for double digits in attacking returns, year 1 in the PL, but more then that he’s actually impactful on the game, with great vision and in game cleverness, while you don’t get into that Leeds team without desire and engine.

We have a vacuum on the right side when Jamo is out or lack a credible alternative, if you wanted to use him more central.

I like this lad a lot, he’s a really talented player with more to come.

Would be looking at £40m+ now for him. We should be looking for the next Raphinha. He was playing every week in Ligue 1 so shouldn't have been unknown to our scouts.

I’d go £40 mill for him personally, he’s the right age, with the right skill set, with the right impact, I think there is more then a very good chance we make money on a 40 mill deal. I think if your going over that then you have questions.

This is a joke

Doubt Godfrey is on that. Would be some move from Norwich in the Championship to that sort of crazy money.

Football is a horrible business. That sort of money would pay mortgages off and set families up for life. Can’t blame the players for taking the cash though.
I believe he’s on 68k pw

Bernard, Mina, Gomes, Sigurdsson and Delph will be gone in the next one or two summers even if that were true.

I’m not sure that’s true. Gomes is here till 2024 so he’ll be difficult to find a buyer for on his wage. He’s a decent player so it’s not a disaster, but it’s not ideal. Same situation with Iwobi who is worse. Mina is a good player, wouldn’t be in a hurry to get rid. Gylfi will get another year minimum.

Bernard and Delph will be off though.

We have to be looking at the goalscoring stats for any midfielder/winger we bring in, we can't go another season with so much reliance on DCL/Richarlison for goals.

The no goal return from midfield has been a severe issue for years.

Agreed. We need both creativity and goals from midfield, and I know stats don’t tell the whole story but it’s not too difficult to identify players who aren’t unattainable. Buendía at Norwich, Portu at Sociedad, Kamada at Frankfurt, Berardi at Sassuolo to name a few. It can get a bit footy manager which isn’t helpful, but these lads are among many who consistently create chances for their clubs. We need one or two like them.
