We had no choice with Lukaku, its not like we willingly sold him and please, surely you wont come back with anything about him having a contract.

The problem is, we sold Lukaku and if you believe the people who don't rate DCL, we are still looking for his replacement, so IMO, selling a promising player who has improved year on year is a bit silly. Of course 80m is a lot of money, but money in the bank doesn't score goals.

Hamez is 29 and other than him and Digne, I think we could upgrade everybody else.

That doesn't mean I don't think DCL, Rico, Godders, Keane, Allan and Doucs arent good players.

You keep naming all the rubbish players we have, why not try and get them out the door, see if an upgrade on them improves our better players.

At the end of the day, we shouldn't refuse any unreasonable offer for any player, I just think DCL is worth holding on to, whether I would if offered 80m, well I'm not sure, but I don't think I'm ever going to have to consider that, personally.

I know for certain I wouldn't be replacing him with an injury-prone Striker in Ings or a risk like Belotti whos had 1 good season in 8.

I wouldn't actively try to sell either DCL/Richy but for me they are more Fellaini/Lescott/Arteta in terms of importance than Rooney/Lukaku who were/are elite level. ultimately the years of Walsh & Brands inept recruitment has terrified us of losing any of our better players in fear of them being replaced with largely duds which I suppose is understandable as I would have reservations myself.

If we were still under the Moyes days of solid recruitment no one would realistically blink an eye lid if someone offered £90 million for Richarlison or DCL as you knew they would be replaced with 4-5 players who would improve the side/squad as a whole.

You look at Leicester selling Chillwell & Maguire and reinvesting the money correctly rather than punting it on rubbish thats what we have to start getting back to.

No but it is a business these days and an £80m sale on a £1.5m purchase is an enormous profit on a player who isn't really top level just yet and there are other forwards about. As for your RW id love us to sign Berardi of Sassuolo he is really good, scores, goes past people, good cross, good passer and can also play upfront.
