I thought he was pretty good but he was never worth 150m or really even good enough for Barcelona to want him. The nature of the goals made people starry eyed.

I dont think they got anywhere near 150m in reality mate. If/when he goes the figure will be 80-90m ish.

I'd say peak Coutinho at Liverpool is better than all our players bar James.

That isn't really a high bar though is it? And DCL runs him close anyway. Richarlison could do if he gets it together.

80m is still too much for what he was.

In a PL season it's Coutinho 2016-17 he hit 8 whereas Buendia 2019-20 he was only 7
The two sites I looked at both had it at 7 and 7 but that doesn't really change the point I'm trying to make. I think we need passers more than scorers. If we're playing Richarlison and DCL every week we have more than enough goal scoring in our attack. We need players who can link it together and create and it isn't crazy to suggest Buendia is a better option for that than Coutinho is.

That's my take at least. I don't believe in the idea of just adding goalscorers and expecting more goals to magically happen.

I don't see us getting much more. Who would pay us 40m or so for 6-goal Richarlison?

Kean, we'll be lucky to get half of what we paid imo.
I don't know that anyone would but then you just don't sell.

Same to this one. No one goes over what we paid then he stays.

I like Anguissa

He’s a good player mate, I don’t think he improves us much on top of what we have. Im probably going against the popular grain here, but I don’t think we need strengthening in that posisition, I’m more then happy with Alan and Doucoure for a season or two, I actually really like both, we actually haven’t had that many games they have played together.

Doucoure for me is very underattend, he carried us through Alan’s injury and I don’t think it’s an accident our form has gone of a cliff or we look unbalanced without him. We miss him hugely in my opinion. Id also persevere with Tom who has come on this year for me and Gbamin, who has been awfully unlucky, but I like his range of passing in the bits I saw. Then good things are expected on Onyango.

If I was looking for someone in the engine room I’d actually go for Kalvin Phillips at Leeds he’s that bit more dynamic, tenacious and is a bundle of energy. Also like Ndidi at Leicester but he’s been a bit stop start this year. But a good player to be mined there.

For me though priority next year is alternates in scoring goals, I think it’s a given we will get a right full, but if as expected we’ve lost Moise, we need an alternate to DCL - better than King, I’d agree with others in the creative dept, we either need a better return from our inside forwards Richarlison has been of it this year, or more guile in behind. Players I like are Barnes, Raphina and in recent weeks I’ve been impressed with Periera at WBA, like @TheBigIguana i also like Buendia. While Couthino is a good player, I do wonder are we building layers of older players on big wedge at their apex that inevitably leads to continued high turnover.
