Everton Summer transfers 2021

He’s a good player mate, I don’t think he improves us much on top of what we have. Im probably going against the popular grain here, but I don’t think we need strengthening in that posisition, I’m more then happy with Alan and Doucoure for a season or two, I actually really like both, we actually haven’t had that many games they have played together.

Doucoure for me is very underattend, he carried us through Alan’s injury and I don’t think it’s an accident our form has gone of a cliff or we look unbalanced without him. We miss him hugely in my opinion. Id also persevere with Tom who has come on this year for me and Gbaman, who has been awfully unlucky, but I like his range of passing in the bits I saw.

If I was looking for someone in the engine room I’d actually go for Kalvin Phillips at Leeds he’s that bit more dynamic, tenacious and is a bundle of energy. Also like Ndidi at Leicester but he’s been a bit stop start this year. But a good player to be mined there.

For me though priority next year is alternates in scoring goals, I think it’s given we will get a right full, but if as expected we’ve lost Moise, we need an alternate to DCL - better than King, I’d agree with others in the creative dept, we either need a better return from our inside forwards Richarlison has been of it this year, or more guile in behind. Players I like are Barnes, Raphina and in recent weeks I’ve been impressed with Periera at WBA, like @TheBigIguana i also like Buendia. While Couthino is a good player, I do wonder are we building layers of older players on big wedge at their apex that inevitably leads to continued high turnover.
The problem is like we’ve seen this season. If one is missing( I think it was November the last time they both played) or god for bid both. Abs We’re left with Davies. Gomes, delph. It’s a disaster.

We definitely need another quality midfielder.

IF we want to compete for top 4, this is what needs to happen IMO.

Still plenty more deadwood to go...... we need to add another 8 players in this window to add to the 8 that are good enough to ensure we have a good 16 and the youngsters that are doing well at that point can fill out the match day squads.

I don`t know if the rumours are correct but I`d take Demiral and Rabiot from Juventus maybe using Kean as a makeweight and Coutinho could be a shrewd buy for 30-40m in instalments. Koulibaly has been linked, those four would seriously increase the quality in the squad. Just another 4 needed including a wide forward, Saint Maximin or Zaha?

Its clear to see the squad needs serious investment yet again, YET AGAIN!

I do
You do understand that being a good player isn't just about how well known your name is right?
Yes. Buendia will be signed for big money by a mid table team this summer, no doubt. He’s decent, but he’s gonna cost more than coutinho. Anguissa would be our next josh king.

Agree we desperately need more goals, creativity and pace from other areas. But we also need another midfielder. For me James, Allan, Docuoure are good enough Davies, Gbamin can be squad players. But Gomes, Sig, Bernard and Iwobi need moving on.

Would like see us go for arrons bissouma bailey then look for cf on loan or buy if we have more money. Then add a similar signing to nkoukou who is a winger

Ruthless. You sure you aren't a Russian billionaire?

Not saying that you're wrong, but that's too much of a go for one summer. We can't realistically turn over the CBs while fixing everything else. We need to prioritize.

IMO the priorities based on recent performances and personnel issues are:

RB = CM > ST > AM/winger = backup GK > CB

What this means is that we're living with most of the CBs in the short term. We have to be able to get up and down the pitch and win the middle third, we have to be able to attack up both flanks, and somebody has to finish what we create...which is a problem when DCL is injured/out of form.

Do those things, and the CBs that we have will look better - though I tend to agree that they're probably not enough to get into the top 4 and stay there reliably. We also need a legitimate backup GK. Pickford in form is a lovely thing, but we need him to be pushed and Virginia just isn't enough at this point.

The transfer game is one of incremental improvement - you can't just go out and buy a team the way City did, and even then it took them a few years to do it.
