We all know Zaha is a good option to have. 11 goals and 2 assists this season not too bad but we all know that a 28 year old Striker (29 in November) who will cost £40m+ and has scored 47 goals in 245 games in the Premier League is a bad move.
Josh King has 48 goals in 172 games and we are binning him off.
I'd rather spend that money on 2 positions like right back and right wing that will contribute more to the squad than take a chance on lad who is one in five striker.

Most of them had only just joined before him yes, but they brought Carlo in because the team wasn't performing. He still had to mould those players into a team and not all of them were world class yet. He then proceeded to bring in Nesta, Seedorf, Rivaldo, Kaka, Cafu, Stam, Crespo just to name a few. Maybe from scratch was a bit disingenuous but I think the main point that squad building isn't alien to Carlo still stands true. This might be his first chance since he was at Milan to actually do it.

It's finding those 'top talents' before they become top talents is what we need to do. We're not exactly top of every player's wish list at the minute. Hopefully Carlo can use his name & profile to attract players that want to play for him & the club.
