I don't know how that market is going to shape up for Kane, I only see United in it. But, either way Levy has to be on borrowed time, lose Kane and you're getting fired. Rehiring Poch is admission of getting things very badly wrong, plus the whole ESL fiasco means Levy is probably damned either way.

Losses are more crucial for FFP for us right now than for accounting purposes would be my guess.

In purely business terms, loss making businesses can still invest if an owner wants to invest.

He reflects the way the game has gone over the last 30 years. When football fans need to be accountants or economists to analyse their team's chances, it's game over.

I have a degree in economics. I didn't study economics to analyse the financial position of my football team. I did it so that I could learn how not be deceived by economists.
