Everton Summer transfers 2021

least of our worries, if the fat kopite is appointed i'll just be glad if we arent in a relegation battle

Potentially worst management appointment we could have made, and an underperforming squad who yet again get another clean slate instead of being cleared out.

I won't lie if I said the upcoming season doesn't worry me. The appointment alone is bad enough, but the fact its another clean slate for players who should be jettisoned into a volcano, just makes the concern even larger.

I'm most worried about 'the new manager needs time to assess the squad so there will be no major buys this season'...

That would be worrying alright. According to The Athletic it's business as usual at the moment though, and Brands is going ahead and speaking with planned targets. A forward, midfielder and right back being the primary targets.

I'm actually not entirely convinced that Benitez, for example, would give all of them a 'clean slate'.

He's familiar with this league and will be with a number of the players at the club. I reckon, day one, he'll already have a good idea of whom he'll want to dump/replace. He has previous for jettisoning players whom aren't working in his system.

I am, every manager we have had has seen this squad previously, we have a DoF who's remit should be dealing with things like this yet lots if them are still hre.

Sure I appreciate its not really a sellers market and some of our players are hard to move due to contract sizes etc, but still this work should be done.

Genuinely hold 0 optimism for the new season at the moment. I think with Benitez there its going to be a really hard long slog playing worse football than we did under Carlo.

This summer should have been about moving several players on and cracking on with improving the squad.

Instead we've turned it into an absolute debacle where we've spent almost a month trying to appoint Benitez.

I can't get over how poorly run the club is these days. Now they are happy to ignore the supporters as well. Can we not go back to about 2009 and actually like following the club again?

So everyone seems to be coming round to the idea of the lovely Rafael Benítez then are we, club have played a blinder here, keep it going long enough that we convince ourselves he's the man for the job.

That's what happens when you've got a couple of businessmen in charge. All Moshiri and Usmanov of want right now is to protect their investment with the new stadium coming, they could care less about trying to challenge at the top.

I fully expect this to be a lean summer in terms of transfers - unless we ship a few out the door.
