Jeez - what kind of super-hero am I meant to be. I defend the integrity (but not business acumen necessarily) of our board single handed initially into the wee small hours, and now I'm expected to be interesting.
I'll have something to eat, smokes and coffee then try any fulfil this latest task.
Hercules me, all these labours. Reckon this one will be the Augean Stables.
;)

SPIT IT OUT, MAN

OK, this is pure conjecture, but is something to ponder.
Both the initial takeover rumour of last month and the re-hash of the Daily Star quoted sources in the City, in one case London (from memory) and the Star was New York I believe. Does this mean that any potential buy-out will be leveraged?
Thoughts ?
If some kind soul has any rumour or is imaginative enough to make up an entertaining one, please feel free to bail me out.

If I knew what leveraged actually meant, or rather the implications of it anyrate, I would offer an opinion.

Seems to have been not too shabby at United.

*cue leeds/portsmouthetc etc*

That's a smart/interesting question. Honestly, I'd assume all purchases as such are financed, although by leveraged I assume you mean with a substantial debt burden in which the purchase is financed by the club's future profits. I've never had enough money to swim in these circles, but I assume anyone looking to purchase a club would make sure (1) their credit is in good order, (2) they understand the tax/governance rules (differences) between operating a club in the UK and their US business, and (3) would work with as many sports finance experts as possible to get a good grasp on the club's value (Deloitte appears to have offices in NY and London, as I'm sure many other firms do as well). Not sure any of that means that Wall Street or City of London leaks necessarily mean the club's purchase will be leveraged in a burdensome way. I'm not familiar with the SKC group, but if a group like theirs has control of multiple businesses they may have plenty of assets and income but credit might be easier to acquire than cash; it might be easier to take out profits on an annual basis than carve them up now for cash.

Not sure that helps, but that's my quick take. Eager to see what comments ESK leaves, if any.

I'm also disappointed this isn't to reinstate any rumors. I'm with @ilikecheese
