I truly, truly despise the 'Everton that' moniker. It allows mediocrity to both fester and to be accepted.
It should be moderated like swear words on this forum...
Nobody could really disagree with your thoughts, but to be honest
@AussieToffee11, while Everton do 'Everton That' moments, this phrase will always be with us. In fact, I would say it now has more meaning than NSNO, which has all but disappeared since Joe Royle departed.
This 'Everton That' is like a dead albatross around the neck of our once great club and will not be rid of until we show a totally professional ruthlessness and shift out the many under achievers.
Whilst we have at Board level, and at every other level of personnel, this 'chummies ' attitude of hiring the very people who created this 'Everton That' attitude, we are labelled. This club is run like a toy shop, and in many ways, whilst it is noble to look after your own, this form of nobility will never win prizes outside of EITC (praiseworthy as it is), but it is holding back progress.
This club resembles a big old comfy dog basket, willing to let any stray in whether they deserve to be or not and is a bit shabby. Nice and cosy though it is, this is the very root of our failures at a playing level and one we must rid ourselves of if we are to have a future.
