Everton That

Everton never had a gang called the county road cutters at the time.
Before the book came out it was never mentioned,
Everton didnt have a hooligan firm with any name at all in the 70,s or 80s. Plenty of hooligans but no name
You cant be notorious if you dont exist.
The only county road cutters around that time was a hairdresser's on county road opposite Hale rd that had it written on the side of the Building.
Have you ever met anybody saying they were in it in real life?.
This is by far the biggest Everton site , I cant think of any former members .
True there was a lot of racist incidents but it wasnt just Everton that had that most did at the time including Liverpool , (John Barnes had it prior to signing for Liverpool),Man Unt, leeds ,west ham , even city and villa , brum all had large NF support in the seventies ,something we never had .
What about the Walton Mafia? I went to college in the 70s with a girl who reckoned her boyfriend was part of that gang who apparently stood on the Street End. I used to stand in the Street End too but I never heard them mentioned - that doesn't really mean much as I never got involved with that sort of behaviour. She did tell me that they were gearing up for the infamous cup tie against Millwall, when several Millwall fans were stabbed but I still don't know whether or not they were a real gang.

Us missing out on Europe in which it seemed wed atleast get eurupa at worst been 4th at one point early this year while Liverpool where out of the champions league question all together and there keeper pops up to score a header in the very last minute to get them in champions league at the very end of the season. ... and thats a very bad season for them. One to be forgotten.

If pickford came up to score a header to get us champions league id never forget that for as long as I lived.

They did exist, but were a local gang more than a Everton only gang , based around the walton rd ,county road area there were lots of different gangs a out at the time in the area of which they were one.
Think half the time the same people were under a different banner every few weeks, walton mafia, Levo, Dely mob, ect. Till a new name popped up and allegiances and allies changed.
I was only a kid at the time but there was graffiti and one or two names of older infamous lads who people said were in it
She was right about the Millwall incident as one of the reported members was seen stabbing at least two in the st end at the time, anybody that was there will recall the fella on the boys pen cage getting stabbed repeatedly, that was one of them.
As was a Rangers fan hit with a hatchet down one of the side streets by Goodison after the tommy Wright testimonial, luckily for him it hit his shoulder.
The walton road ,county road area always had big numbers at the Everton game .

Selling Lukaku not getting a replacement and giving DCL I don’t know how many games to prove himself (it was a lot I’ve never known a player get so long to prove himself) yes he improved and he has proved hes probably quarter of the striker Lukaku is, but it’s took him and age to get to that standard. In the process buying one of Italy’s hottest striker prospects and not playing him.

Selling Lukaku for a record 90 mill at the time. Then PSG buying Neymar for 180 mill immediately afterwards, meaning Liverpool sold Coutinho for 130 mill and bought a load of players with it. Had we waited W recoils have sold Lukaku for much more. Of course we then wasted all the money anyway. Pure Everton that.

Wish I hadn't asked now, terrible stuff. I saw her boyfriend once, he looked quite young and absolutely harmless, but you can never tell can you? Especially if they carry knives etc. Thankfully, those days are long gone and we only have to worry about the state of the team.

Most of the people at the match you had to worry about in my experience looked exactly like that .
As you say times have thankfully changed.

I went on a date the other day with this chick who'd just moved here from Mumbai.

She said she was big into footy and an Arsenal fan. When I said I was an Everton fan she was genuinely nonplussed. Literally had no idea who we were, what league we played in or anything. Was shocked when I said we were in the prem.

Mumbai? Are they allowing flights from India? I thought there was a quarantine for people arriving from there.

To be honest, that says more about her than it does about EFC.

If she followed Arsenal, even on a casual basis, She would have heard if us.

If for no better reason than we play them twice a sea :)

Is this enough...

Being too mean to pay the rent (and leaving the flagpole behind)
Losing a title in the fog at Maine Road... (3-0 up, lost replayed game, missed out on title)
Everton 2 Carlisle 3 (and 0-3 away)
All those final losses (Albion after hitting them for six on their ground, Chelsea after scoring in 30 seconds)
Being done by referees in Villarreal, Panathinaikos and twice in the San Siro
That 2nd replay against Villa in the League Cup
Frank Lampard Senior in the semi (played at a bogey ground, Elland Road)
Clive Thomas
The Ban - just as we were the best team in Europe
Pienaar skating through the Arsenal defence and then losing the lead in the dying seconds
Two Newcastle goals in injury time
Failures like Sandro, Moise Kean, Klaassen
Injuries like Gbamin, Smallman, Farrelly, Williamson
Van Der Meyde
David Fairclough
Losing the 1986 FA Cup Final after leading!
Keeley (90 minutes of hell and a lifetime of humiliation for us)
Mike Walker, Walter Smith, Appointing Ian Buchan and any number of other no-mark managers who hadn't won anything.
Panathinaikos and The RS in 3 days.. (cheated out of both)
FA Cup failure vs: Wigan, Tranmere, Reading, Oldham (home/away), Bradford, Shrewsbury, Port Vale, The misery of Boro, Millwall (stitched up by dreadful refereeing), League Cup failure v Bristol Rovers, York etc.

I guess there's a few more...
