Everton Transfer Thread 2016

To me, there's little to no risk

If we sell Lukaku, we're obviously going to spend a hefty amount to get a new first choice striker in

If we move on Kone, we're going to need a new back up striker, so we'll sign one

Along with Niasse, that's 3 strikers

I think you need at least 4, and we can't really afford to spend money on 3 strikers when we need players in other areas

We could promote from the youth set up, but we don't really have a ready made option there

Wilson has been on loan in the Championship this season and scored 5 in 24. He scores roughly 20% of the time

As a back up striker, that isn't the worst return

So when we need a 4th striker, we can give him a chance. We only have to pay half his wages and we can trial him out over the course of the season, seeing both how he does on the pitch and how he conducts himself in training etc

If he impresses then maybe we offer him a contract and keep him around?

If he doesn't impress, we say "Thanks for giving us a year of your career James, but it's not worked out, good luck in the future"

Either way, it's cost us basically nothing and then in the next window we can spend again when there's funds to do so or we can check the youth set up again to see if there's anyone there we can promote

I really don't get why this is such a head scratcher for some people

It's a potentially good piece of business that, if it goes pear shaped, doesn't really cost us anything barring half the wages of a young lad whose probably not on that much to begin with anyway

Not every signing has to be a big-time important one. The smaller deals are important too

Idk if people are still debating this, but I live local to Brighton and go the game occasionally as well as having a group chat with a United fan and a Brighton fan.

They both think he's turd, and the Brighton fans at the ground let off a huge sigh when he is subbed on. Often hear brighton fans behind me say things like "Not good enough for us, we want promotion"

Brighton fans.

Wow, already selling Griezmann shirts @EdwardMoore

Can't wait for dithering Dave to be back in control of transfers.

Can you imagine the additional amount of indecision and contemplating now his transfer net is even wider.

Christ.
