Everton Transfer Thread 2016

That makes no sense. We are getting an extra 50m from the TV deal and we have just been bought by a billionaire owner who has said he's going to put 100m of his own money into players. So that would mean an extra 150m from last year. There's no way you or I know so let's not debate something we have no clue about.
Not agreeing or disagreeing with you, but isn't there a limit on how much we can spend anyway due to FFP rules?

Would love to have a cheeky go at Arjen Robben/Ribery and Schweinsteiger. They are all above 30 and should not cost much. We could ship our Barry and use Schweinsteiger's experience (despite being injury prone). Its about attracting big names through a couple of other big names towards the end of their career while they are good enough to do the job for a year or two.
Wash your mouth out with soap and water.

Nice idea bringing older players on huge wages...worked a treat for Qpr

Pretty sure I already proved that we have in fact only made an extra 3m from the TV Deal.

People need to stop trotting out this extra 50m in tv money line.

We don't have £100mil (net) to spend on transfers. I can almost guarantee that.

The Moshiri investment of approx £100mil was into the club and by the looks of it over a sustained period. That will cover everything. Wages for players with new deals, now the wages and compo for a new manager and Martinez's compo. Improvements to FF, time and money for stadium plans, etc etc.

Any of the remaining TV money will most likely be used to cover existing debt and allow us to use whatever money is left from Moshiri's investment (there's no way he'll be using his own money to fund £50mils worth of deals), and whatever we get from player sales to go all back into the squad.

People really need to stop banding this figure of '£100mil budget' about. We most likely will spend that, but it will be complimented by sales of assets (which in fairness is the sensible way to run any business)

Perhaps, I've only seen him live once, and wasn't convinced. Of course he might have just had an off game. Interesting that @Cypher has put him down as a DCM in his proposed line up.

Who would you put out of the team to accomodate him at CB? or would you sign him as a back up / if Stones leaves?

He can play both well I think.

Personally, I'd still have Barry in our team most games as he's that good. Don't see why any new manager (particularly if it is one who is new to the PL) would drop him either.

So, in the highly unlikely situation he did sign for us, then probably as a left centre half. The thing is though he needs a dominant centre half next to him. Blind is decent on the ball and good in the tackle, but shocking in the air.

It won't happen though. If Stones does go, then we go out and buy the best centre back we can attract.
