Kevin Kampl, V Janssen and Lewis Cook would be a nice mix to keep the team fresh. Kampl is a pressing machine and can play CM, CAM and on the wing, Janssen is a proven goal scorer and a good link up player and Cook is a young dribbler with a mean shot a la Ward Prowse. Combine that with Davies, Dowell, Galloway and Ledson from the academy, and a world class GK, like Joe Hart, and perhaps 1 new CB who can play DM, and we have a really solid squad. RK likes forward pressing and mobility across the back line, and has also toyed with a back three with Bertrand as a CB, so perhaps don't be surprised if you find Baines' role changing v soon...

I was thinking about Cook the other day we got linked with him a while back, I think the emergence of Davies and one or two of the other young lads will probably mean he gets swerved.

Top class replacement for Barry/McCarthy yes, but given Koemans comments on southampton youth, i would guess we will be seeing a couple involved with the first team.

I like Kampl, thought he was ideal as the Pienaar-replacement we've been looking for but we failed to move for him last year when he was available for cheap from Dortmund, and he's now a pretty much key figure for Leverkusen.

If we sell stones and lukaku does that mean we'd have 250 million to spend? Keeping in mind we are getting over 100 million to spend initially.

Baines can't defend in a back four. Would be a disaster playing left side in back 3. Bertrand is a better defender.

I think koeman will be pretty switched on to know what's best for baines

You wonder about the senior players - Jags, Baines Barry - how they will fit in. Baines has had a nightmare year with injuries, Koeman might go a different direction if he isn't back at full pelt.

lol

You'd be disgusted if we signed high profile players?

Would you turn your nose up at mata.

Some if our fans need to get past this small time thinking.

Yeah if we signed Mata for 50 mill and threw him 150k a week i would, im actually a Mata fan, but i would much prefer the likes of Yarm or Sigurrdson, for sub 25mill, their potential and likely longevity. Same with Ibra Vs Janseen - Janseen every day.

One mans small thinking, is anothers thinking outside the box, its really unimanginitive to just throw money at signings and wages of older established CL players in my opinion.

This time last year Mahrez was probably worth what 5 mill at a push, Sterling what 40 odd million.

Your as stupid in the transfer market as your willing to pay.

LOL

You would have Janssen over Zlatan?

Get out.

Timo Werner could be a cut price Kampl, relegated with Stuttgart, he's spent his season scoring and arguing with their manager about a move. Will be available, even on a loan to buy.
