Yeah if we signed Mata for 50 mill and threw him 150k a week i would, im actually a Mata fan, but i would much prefer the likes of Yarm or Sigurrdson, for sub 25mill, their potential and likely longevity. Same with Ibra Vs Janseen - Janseen every day.

One mans small thinking, is anothers thinking outside the box, its really unimanginitive to just throw money at signings and wages of older established CL players in my opinion.

This time last year Mahrez was probably worth what 5 mill at a push, Sterling what 40 odd million.

Yarmelenko has never produced in a difficult league or any of the big games for kiev, for 20+mil he'll cost, its a massive risk.

Sigurdsen was good for all of 6 months at swansea many moons ago, hes proven shabite,

Jansen i like but as good as he could be he could equally be as bad, the most risky out of the lot.


Thats a far more risky, borderline stupid way to spend the money instead of buying proven quality.

Goalkeeper - Leno/Forster/Navas

Defenders - Umtiti/Benatia/Jardel/Manolas/Gaspar

Midfielders - Witsel/Klaassen/Bellarabi/Dahoud/Eremenko/Vitolo/Parejo/Nolito/Ziyech

Forwards (including wingers) - Slimani/Bakambu/Lacazette/Hernandez/Salah/Milik/Janssen/Ben Yedder/Boufal/Batshuayi.

Not sure mate, I think when we where in for him the length on his contract and the terms he was going for just made him the total right pick for us. At that time if we would have gotten him we wouldn't have looked back.

I think that time has passed, a lot of it was to dow with Martinez and i think @roydo said there hasn't been any contact.

For what his chairman would want too i would expect other players to be approached before him.

Yarm has never had the oppurtuinty and has performed in the CL and Europe not to mention in tournaments for the Ukraine. Youd have to be a martian not to see his quality.

Sigurdson, was prob the best player in the PL in the second half of last year when he was played in his natural position of no 10.

Janseen is boss.

You got to trust your own eye when buying players mate, one of the above Yarm, well id happily back to be a roaring success.

Sigurdsson is proven PL quality and up there in terms of mins to goals and assists with many in the PL at higher profile clubs.

Correct. Literally, the minute he went, all contact stopped. There had been a lot of discussions/enquiries between the clubs/Martinez/player.

Aye like i said i think it was just the right player at high quality with the right price.
