Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Plus remember Harry Kane plays like absolutely every single game he might not want to go and be a bench back-up.

CL mate. Kane will be rested for a fair few more games next year - especially given that he won't have a full pre-season because of the Euros.

IF Stones and Lukaku decide to leave after they have spoken to Koeman then he gets to double his transfer kitty. Win win either way I guess, given in his time at Southampton he got Alderweireld on loan and signed Van Dijk then he can clearly spot a defender so he should be able to replace Stones. Getting a striker in to replace Rom will be harder but not impossible given the money we now have. Can't see us spending £200m in one window even if they do go but we should spend far more than we are used to. Bring it on.

They said 'City have an interest in Stones and Laporte'. So vague, and literally telling people nothing they didn't know -

'Rich club with world's best manager have an interest in good players', is basically the gist.

We'll see. United have already moved to sign Bailly (very good player) from Villarreal, so I can't see them moving for Stones after signing a £30mil 22-year-old, though you never know.

That really only leaves City and Chelsea who are willing to pay the massive fee, maybe even Arsenal if Wender decides to keep this spending spree up (they look likely to be getting Mkhitaryan as well).

So it's a waiting game to an extent. Rom, I'm pretty sure, is already gone, though there's no guarantee of that just yet. As for Stones, I think we have a very strong chance of keeping him if Koeman gets to sit down with him and convince him. After all, he was one of the best defenders of his generation.

If he stays great! Koeman may well be the man to turn him into the worldy we all think he can be but equally after last season and some of his performances i wouldn't complain too much if someone offered £45+million (England international with Prem experience and talent, £45 is a minimum) for him.

Fair enough, can't argue with most of that. Though what do you mean by 'his performances'?

Bar the first half vs Swansea, I can't think of any all-round performance that was awful.

It's not like Barkley, Del or Rom - who all literally had entire runs of games where they were next to useless.

Stones made mistakes, and had a patch after xmas where they all seemed to come at once - but overall his performances were on the level. If he'd had played four games in a row like how he did vs Swansea, then yeh, I'd agree with you.

The problem with selling any of Barkley, Stones or Rom is replacing them. With the amount of teams around Europe with big money simply being able to attract the players and get them regardless of the price is going to be hard. Look at the difficulty Utd have had in recent years and they're Utd.

Personally I hope they all stay but if they want to go and as a squad it won't leave us weaker then I will understand selling.

It might be wise to make a few early big signings to show them a sign of our ambition.

I think he will probably have been told that Rom is looking all-but gone, but that he will still be able to sit down for a discussion with the player at least.

I imagine it is very different for Stones. I think that as a club we're still desperate to retain him, and will only sell if a silly bid comes in and the player pushes it. I imagine RK has been told that he will have full support to get Stones signed up (in terms of new deal - same goes for Barkley as well). I also think, given Koeman's career as a superb defender who has no doubt set the standard in the modern game for players of Stones' ilk, that he has a great chance of convincing him to stay. The only managers I could see improving Stones more than RK could at this point would be Mourinho (but they've just signed or are in the process of signing a £30mil defender) or Pep (distinct possibility). Maybe, maybe Wenger to come in for him as well...

Not in the realms of sanity ofc, but if you had the chance of a James from madrid for 50m mate, then you should take it, bale and suarez have shown just how much impact one world class player can have on an otherwise nothing special team
Off tha scale FAP if that happen. GOT would fail due to leakage of semen into the servers.

With our rumoured transfer budget and Rom most likely on his way out, who would you want to go out and get for us up top?

Dream scenarios for me would be Paco Alacacer (bought him in Fifa, liked how he plays in clips I've watched), Breel Embolo, and even though he wouldn't be a long term solution I would like to see Rooney end it here.

Realistically I could see Bony or even Naismith come back. Naismith to me was a big part of our chemistry and really identified with the aspect of us being the people's club with all of the good he did.

What do you all think?
You are on the list.

I
I once wrote about a 1000 word essay on why he should play just behind the striker, I meant every word.

What a time to be alive, part of me died when he left for pastures new.

Probably witnessed him make one of the worst performances of all time in an Everton shirt, but every other 10 games he would score an absolute worldie

I hope we bring him back this summer
I was in Amsterdam for that man utd game. Feeling a bit sorry for myself. Then going absolutely apesh*t. The locals seemed to enjoy my theatrics. Especially since I'd looked like a drug-addled corpse 5 min before that.
(Legal medication I hasten to add)

I want us to start the season with options, not a team.

Ross is first choice, but I want an alternative. I want different midfielders foe different roles. I want more than one striker who isn't Kone to give us options up front.

Sounds demanding but most clubs normally have that. Ideally I want koeman to play the team in front of him not his team. So different line ups, different tactics and different players to do thst also.

Technically we have that out wide already with del, Kevin, Aaron there who all offer something different. Just a bit more throughout the squad and it will be a successful transfer window for me.

Considering tarashaj is already there and niasse is still a mystery, that could be two options straight away.

The chances of something like that are marginal to say the least mate, would take us doing what City did with Robinho and vastly overpaying etc just to try to change the footy medias general perception of us (worked overall for them when they did it though), but can't for the life of me understand anyone who thinks bringing in the likes of him would not be the smart way of spending really.
