15 mil, maybe up to 20-22 with add ons, how much do you think he will go for? he has been linked to Turkey etc, they're not willing to put big money up for him, this is his last chance of a big move...
£15m lol

Have you seen what's going on with prices this summer mate? Leicester are about to offer £30m for Troy Deeney. Now I think Deeney is a decent player, but if you honestly think you'd get Juan Mata for half a Deeney (upfront or otherwise), you need your bumps checking.

You can't really describe Robles as a 'little' Spaniard though.

I remember the rumours at the time where Mourinho and Mata didn't get on.

Justifiably IMO mate, look at who they have basically had playing in that role since - Hazzard who basically gave up on them last season from the start, and i honestly think is overated, Fabregas who had a great half season and been pretty average or worse ever sicne and by all acocunts was one of those that led the downing of tools at chelsea (and now comically wants to leave them cos mourinho isnt manager anymore - which you couldn't make up if you tried) and Oscar - who is pretty bang average and has never impressed me for club or country

Mata is and was miles better than any of those 4 on a consistant basis

Deeney plays in a very similar way to Vardy and is likely to be a replacement for him, he is a known quantity in the league, and Watford losing him would massively increase the likelyhood of them going down. In short there is every reason for Watford to keep him and for Leicester to try and sign him, so the price is bound to be high.

Mata on the other hand isn't wanted by his own club, they could afford the financial loss, and there are not that many sides who desperately need him.

I think its entirely possible that Mata will go for a lot less than Deeney.

what about barry , besic, gibson, cleverley, Tarashaj mate?

Also Davies and dowell, you aren't basing that on one performance right? You have seen them several times throughout the academy?

Barry
gibson
cleverley

wouldnt get in that high energy midfield

besic and tarashaj clean slates...

2 kids....will improve by being around that quality

but we arent signing all those.

If two centre mids of the quality of those two arrived mate alongside Mata, McCarthy will be shipped off faster than a speeding bullet

I think if koeman had any sense he would have these as a midfield skeleton and build on top

barkley
mccarthy
dowell
besic
davies

McCarthy is a good sub to chase and harry.

We aren't signing all what you have mentioned either.

But generally in a high energy midfields are off put by a holding midfielder who can anchor them. So gibson and besic especially could prove to be vital in that sense and certainly not warranting being written off.

Just because you put those young lads round better players does not make them better players. United have had plenty of youngsters highly rated fail despite playing with some world class players. Hell im a half decent 5 a side player, if i trained with real madrid would that make me good enough to play with them?

If the young lads don't make it then they don't make it, no way of knowing right now, but assuming they are good enough may just come back to bite you. Baxter was class at that age, Green also, wallace, Hughes, Lundstrum, Duffy to name a few. and where are they now? not a single one could make the step up.

Not every club in the league will be comparing prices for purchases and sales against the valuation of Troy Deeney mate

Duffy is currently in France part of the Ireland squad, I'd say that's stepping up.

No, they won't. But it's indicative that prices are going to be through the roof this summer. It's not like Leicester plucked that number out of the air, they were knocked back at £25m.

So to talk about £15m for a player like Mata is a BIT on the optimistic side
