Feel like Koeman would love Besic. He's a big fan of Clasie who has some similar qualities - technical, not a particularly big lad but scrappy and gives it his all. Would be very happy for him to be starting as our second DM in away games and coming on to close out home games.

Edit: that's assuming Koeman buys a DM like Schneiderlin/Strootman.

Thats a goal to game ratio at Southampton. I think he's score more for us, if Geri was playing putting crosses in like he did a the first half of the season. Reports saying Baines is training every day to get fit for the season. Just a thought a proper number 9.

It's based on many things:-

1. He loves a tackle
2. He loves being a hard man
3. He hates to be mugged off
4. He has got away with a few dodgy trailing legs left in the box
5. He got rinsed by Martial which shows he ain't the quickest and could therefore be prone to making a late challenge in order to recover

Stones has given away plenty of pens but I'd still keep him because he has potential and I would still keep besic I am just worried that due to all of the above he may not have the discipline to pull out of a tackle when required

1. Who doesnt love a tackle?
2. Hes never acted the hardman, hes a pleasant and polite young man off the pitch, on the pitch hes hard but fair and takes no crap, the hardman image is also a myth

5. Hes not a Right Back, Martial is an outstanding footballer, in his correct position hes mugged off Messi and Bale.

I want a disciplined side a team who will just get the job done in an effective manner but in style to get the result

If besic can do that then great.
 
  • In starting to realise more more how bad Martinez was, I just hope I'm right becuase I really do think we have a talent squad. Maybe with the exception of one or two big players we really don't need much. Hope we get a big player in as a goalkeeper and someone like mata or even better and then focus on youth and potential signings.
