Everton Transfer Thread 2016

He won't cost much. Probably £6m-£8m as he only has a year left in his contract.

I rate him more than Robles so I am happy with this if Koeman also rates Krul.

Looking at his Injury record i can't see this coming off actually. He is only coming back from an cruciate injury, not even begun training. Not a chance he is passing the SAS style medical we go through - missed 31 games.

Be gutted if we spend 8m on him when Horns release is roughly the same.

Like you said, he is better then Robles, but just a decent prem goalie, nothing special

I've got a very good mate who is a Newcastle fan. He really rates Krul highly but isn't sure he'll get over his injury. If he does could be a good signing.

They're paying more for Batshuayi than we paid for Rom.

He's only 5 months younger than Rom and has no premier league experience. Lukaku scored more last season in the prem than Batshuayi scored in the much weaker French league. Rom also had a better ratio in the Belgian league. And last season was Batshuayi's first good one in higher level European competitions. It was arguably Rom's fourth.

In short, whilst I like Batshuayi, it's a ludicrous fee and a big risk for any club to pay that much. It's also very worrying going forwards as it seems even 100m won't go that far if purchases like Batshuayi's and Mane's become the norm.

We'll probably spend 150m, maybe more, if Stones leaves. I'm convinced we'll spend it well even with the crazy prices flying around. Btw I don't think £30m for Batshuayi is ludicrous at all, £20m would probably be seen as a bit of a bargain.

I was using Eto'o as an example, I don't like signing players 30+ just because you are looking at sale value and a limited time span. HOWEVER, if they are good enough and relatively cheap (Sneijder would cost £6m apparently), then I wouldn't be fully against it.

Not saying Sneijder is good enough, we'd only truly know if we did sign him, but sometimes it can be worth getting that recognition player for relatively cheap for several reasons. Thinkof it this way, what would have been the better option of the bench this season, Osman or Sneijder? I tihnk we will be signing much more ambitious players, but even the top sides sign a 30/31 year old every nowe and then for experience and for options.. (United, Schweinsteiger for example)

Eto'o didnt half give us a profile boost globally as well.

Sammy Eto'o was one hell of a signing 30 plus or not. How many of you here ever thought you would have seen him in an Everton shirt ? At the time we were looking at pushing on from the great season we had before and Eto'o seemed a statement of intent in terms of attracting household names. The game against Chelsea he knew were to be, experienced player that Romelu could of learnt a lot from (except dodgy dress sense).

Signing Sneijder would be the same as Eto'o, not all about being quick and athletic but his technical qualities and a wise head for Barkley to learn from. He can also take a set piece, something many here have cried about for the last 12 months - myself included.

Going from a 34 Year old Osman to a 31 year old Sneijder isn't bad business, especially if we want to make a name in Holland with Koeman.

I want a big brute in goal like Steve Mandanda, he can come out and punch stones in the face when he starts fannying about with the ball at the back....

Take both man and ball to the cries of STEEEEVVVVEEEEEE from the GSE.
