If we sell Lukaku it will be for much more than £40m, we signed him for £28m, he has scored 19 goals this season, is still only 22, unless Man Utd bid £60m, I don't think the club would entertain it. I could see this being a story started by his agent to get Lukaku an improved contract

Be more than 60ml the TV money will make sure of that

We have the most talented young forward in Europe ( outside of Neymar) and that includes Kane

Mathieu Debuchy is able to leave Arsenal this window, and we need a right-back.

Thoughts? Heard he's crap but not seen that much of him.
Arsenal signed him for about 12 million so guess they would want close to that to release him and doubt we'd pay that for a 30 year old backup fullback.

Iirc was good for Newcastle but an early ankle injury at Arsenal put him out for a while and he never seemed to display any decent form after that to keep his place over Bellerin.

To be fair FM is pretty well researched. Not to justify this weird brand of tittishness, like, but football is just unpredictable. Every top manager with a scouting network will have signed at least a few young players with high expectations, only for them to flop, so expecting a game to not make the same mistakes is harsh. Yaya Sanogo is a great, recent example of FM and a top manager getting it wrong!

If the average forum poster were to pick 20 players for the future from their own knowledge and we had FM pick 20 players for the future I would bet every penny I have that FM would have more success.

thank god that neither of these have any say in the club's transfer dealings...

They've got a scouting network numbering into four figures now, and I was reading the other day that a couple of people who started off as data researchers for them are now scouts for CL level clubs.

Don't get me wrong, it's far from infallible, but it's a huge database, with a relatively high level of accuracy considering what it started as.

As an aside, a mate of mine knows the chief scout of Man Utd. He says more than half of football league (not PL) clubs use the database to point their limited scouting resources in the right direction.

Chief scout for them is a big blue by the way, met him once.

I've abstained up until now but here goes...

No more ins except for future prospects although maybe Coleman's injury will speed up any interest in Sam Byram if there was some to begin with. Would love a keeper but no one will sell a good keeper mid-season.

FIFA stats however are almost entirely pulled out of someone's arse and anyone being influenced by how good someone is in that game is a big, floppy biff.
