Interesting the Mail dude that has the Yarmo story is the same Mail dude who had the Delboy story.

So we possibly are "preparing a bid". But even should that be true, I'd be staggered if old mate Dynamo chairman sells him.

From what i understand mate we never completely pulled away from the deal - everything in theory will still be in place and if Naismith is sold then that explains where we are getting the additional 6m from i guess.

Kiev owner is a strange one - the way we actually conducted ourselves around the entire shambles last time will have stood is in good stead with him strangely, we didn't moan or kcik a fuss up when he messed us around and went about it in a dignified respectful manner - for someone like him it will actually count a lot.

P.S. he is a utter fruitloop

Also think the lack of any Movement on new deals for Stones, Barkley and Lukaku is tied up with a big name signing being imminent, one who will come in as top earner and whose contract the others will be offered improved deals to give parity with that

I've got no doubt we're still a bit interested, but there's even more reason for Kiev to want to hang on to him now than there was in the summer.

As someone said there could be a clause in his contract that they can't wriggle out of now. There's a good chance that they've only got 2 more champions league games left anyway. They have had plenty of time to target replacements this time around as well.

Thing is mate every year Kiev will basically qualify for the CL from that league now that Dnipro have collapsed, so in theory they could use keeping hold of him for a CL run as an excuse to never sell him every season. They know they can't win the thing - there big goal was to try qualify through the group stage and that was achieved - now its just a matter of if City knock them out or if someone else does - they obviously have zero chance of winning the thing.

As a club they are reliant on players who sign for them with the expectation of being allowed to move on should a big team or big offer come in for them, else no player would go there - they are a stepping stone club in a stepping stone league for promising players - showing a total unwillingness to sell when those offers come in will give them a nightmare in both recruitment and getting players to sign extensions in the future, Shaktar operate the same way and every year their star players are allowed to leave when the big enough offers come in - its hjust the rality of football over there.

A 20m Euro bid or whatever this is, will be seen as a triumph by the owner and the fans - they got to keep him for the CL groups and qualify - got him to resign a new deal to ensure the fee and then got a much larger fee than they would have in the Summer - as far as it goes it doesn't get much better for Surkis than that scenario - he comes out looking like a superstar and very good businessman in all this and also then looks to be the man who honours his promises by letting the player move after all.

Martinez has a lot of form for pursuing a player he REALLY wants until he gets him to sign - Lukaku, Deulofeu, McGeady (Shudder), McCarthy all point to that

How do you know all this mate guesswork or?

Basically yes mate lol, as a club we have form for using the window to announce new contracts for players and using it as a deflection technique, the fact we haven't this window and there has been no sniff of that makes me think they have something else in the offing

the league is on the winter break till mid march now mate as well

Where would Yarmo fit in? Left wing? He's playing on the right iirc.

He plays on the right for club and country mate but swaps over now and then during games to the elft for Kiev, for Country he plays right due to them having Konoplynka on the left as well though.

He is VERY left footed though, playing for us for example from the left these days is more allowing a player to go centrally most of the time and almost play as an auxiliary forward at times (Kone), something he does a lot from the right with Kiev

All thought out and very sensible.

I remember you said though that Yarmolenko's beat positon was on the right and he was nowhere near as good on the left.

As Deulofeu is now a fixture on the right and we have no LW how much impact could he have on the left?
