Everton Transfer Thread 2016

We'll sign one or two this week, but we've already left it too late to have the ideal preparation for the season ahead.

Massive missed opportunity by dithering for a month. People will forget it when we start bringing in the players, but if/when we get off to a shaky start it will be because of how slow off the mark we have been.

To have not brought in at least a first choice goalkeeper by now is verging on negligence in my eyes.
Spot on with this post Tubey mate.

Agree apart from the last bit. Maybe Koeman likes Robles and thinks he deserves a shot, stranger things have happened like!

This is the week I would expect some movement.

Witsel stuff must surely come to a head, Mata back home from China, Carvalho apparently having a chat, Stones surely moving on so a CB needed soon, and a GK still a priority.

My mood will shift from "yeah righto" to "hmmm" on the official scale if there's no action by this time next week.

Few people shot me down about worrying but we are less than 3 weeks away from playing Spurs, who were in every way a far superior team to us last season, they have strengthen and we haven't, so yeah am a tad worried.

I expect we sign a replacement first then Stones will be sold.

Whilst I agree on the player front let's not underestimate how much of a difference having an actual manager makes. We have strengthened big time already. As a few others have alluded to, I'm of the opinion that if we get to this point next week with no new players then I'll start to be a little worried but I'm alright for now...

My opinion has always been that we should have most in by the time we start the season. A few touches are always done right at the end but we should be ready to rock and roll on the first day of the season.

While I don't begrudge the post I can't agree with this Tubes, it's just overly negative and very 'chicken licken - the sky is going to fall in' etc.

I think we can all agree we would have liked to have seen a bit more movement, but it's easy to forget that the club has over gone a massive transition in a relatively short space of time.

Koeman's first pre-season game in charge was two days ago. The season is three weeks away and a lot of players (at every club) are just returning from the Euros.

If we don't bring anybody in this week, the panic is understandable. For now, IMO, I can understand the mild frustration, but if it's proving a little difficult to bring in our targets (who are certainly a step up on the quality we've been able to budget for in recent years) then so be it.

he'll get a keeper in mate, but I do think he's willing to give Robles a few games in pre-season to stake his claim as No.2
