Everton Transfer Thread 2016

I agree with that, so also think we need a big increase of quality.

Well actually it depends, do we want to finish top half? Top 8? Top 6? Top 4? Do we want to win the thing?

Depends on what the ambition of the club and fan base actually is.

But you also have to remember our pulling power and the players we can attract. To us, we are Everton the greatest club in the world. To the majority of footballers, especially foreign, we are a team who can't even offer them European football, most wouldn't have been born when we last won a trophy. Some on here are turning their nose up at some very good players like we should only be buying the elite of world football but that is difficult due to our current position. Most clubs are in a position to offer big wages so how do we stand out?. We need to build up to champions league, probably start with Europa and try and improve the squad as our stock rises. This may/will take time unless we have a Leicester season.

How has conte done that exactly? Chelsea apparently want about 5 more in, all they've done is sign one centre mid and a backup striker.

Mourinho still hasn't got his primary target who will change hugely how United set up.

Not to mention pep who has hardly started in the market, maybe he doesn't realise two weeks isn't enough time mate.

Only team which has done most of its business is the rs, and we know their record in the transfer market...

Oh and spurs who have just added depth to the squad so far.

Too many panicking on here lately

Not panicking at all, just frustrated. Years and years of transfer shambles and we thought we would have it sorted now but no, same old same old. We are entitled to feel like this by the way, just because you are so cool does not mean we all are.

Not saying your not entitled too.

But people are blaming the club for not meeting the timetable they themselves set in their own heads, nothing changes by Sept then yeah, but no clubs done even half its business yet besides a couple of them. Way too early in the knee jerk assumptions by lots and gonna be amusing seeing all the u turns on the forums soon.

People are blaming the club for not dealing with the situation we are in. New manager with an average squad of footballers who are not suited to his style. We have been slow in everything we have done from appointing the manager, the DOF and now making signings. It would not matter if we had the same manager as last year but we don't, the entire squad will need to adapt to him and we cannot do that when we do not even have the players he wants in place.

Also, cos we have such a terrible history of messing about with transfers, the fans are already at a point of despair before we even start. It would have been nice if, just once, it could have gone smoothly.

I thought i was the only one who was still calm! Good to see im not alone.
Yes it would have been nice to have some deals done now, but their is zero evidence to back up this "same old Everton" talk lately. I can see why some are starting to get restless though.

This face will forever haunt us.

It's the instant gratification generation.

Anyone stepping back can see that step by step w eare chanign a huge amount throughout the club, to think that player personnel is going to be the one thing they forget about, it's plainly a bit blinkered thinking.

A good example, look at the media who have at every opportunity put us in a small safe 'small club' box the past decade or more, stories about us going head to head for Chelsea re now getting put out by these papers/sites, and aren't doing it in a derogatory way to us or with a snigger, but are genuinely giving us 'respect' as being able to match and possible win that battle, yest a large portion of our own fans are happily playing us down at every chance, don't understand HOW people aren't seeing that things are massively changed for the better

We've never done business early in the window really. The following are players we signed by this day in each of the past four seasons. Four are free transfers, two were players we had on loan previously and the other two played at our managers former club.

This day in 15/16 = Cleverley, Deulofeu

This day in 14/15 = Gareth Barry

This day in 13/14 = Kone, Robles, Alcaraz

This day in 12/13 = Naismith

I read that as they where signed on this day... and get excited or a 4 player £100m transfer reveal at 3:30pm... and 21 seconds.
